HivePosh Weekly. What Hive Posts Are Best to Share on Reddit and How Much $HIVE You Can Earn by That

Give Them a Solution

An amazing thing about Hive blockchain is that you can be well-rewarded for just your effort: a detailed report from your family trip to the nearest attraction, for example, or your photography from a walk in a random direction (hinting at myself 🙂).

However, making money from blogging is normally based on different principles, and the main rule is: those who provide solutions to problems earn the most. This rule works when it comes to earning with ads (Google Adsense, etc), referral links, or getting rewards on Medium. It even works when you make money writing books.

Sharing Hive links on Reddit through HivePosh falls under the same pattern. Links to Hive posts that can teach readers something practical are the most approved by Reddit readers and, therefore, the most rewarded by HivePosh program. All sorts of how-tos, manuals, recipes, and expert long-reads.

Articles containing non-trivial knowledge shared in thematically appropriate subreddits is the best what you can do. For example, people want to eat cheap and vegan, give them a solution:

Travel articles are quite common on Hive but they can be anything: from superficial posts about hackneyed landmarks to detailed guides and helpful reports on off-the-beaten-path attractions, a good example of the latter:

On the contrary, sharing posts with lovely pictures with minimum text, your personal impressions of the past day, and reviews of trivial books/movies/series created ages ago have little chance of being successful on Reddit.

As sharers, we can choose the title for the share. For example, a post with photography can perform much better if titled, for example, "Shooting street photography with Nikkor 85mm f/1.8G" instead of original "A walk with a camera after the office". I personally always re-think the title of the post I am sharing.

Give Them Novelty

I stated "Give them a solution" is the main formula but not the only one. Expert reactions to current news and novelties can be a success too, from politics and natural disasters to new products on the market (new mobile phones, cameras, lenses, etc). By saying this, I mean expert long-reads mostly based on your real-life experiences. For example:

Most generic advice would be: Give them something worth reading. Which also makes sense not only for sharing on Reddit but also for posting on Hive itself :-)

So how can I understand if a post is worth reading (to someone) or not? Let's say I personally can feel that a detailed guide on how to explore National Park X in Slovenia isn't worth reading since I am not going to visit this country and I don't enjoy reading instructions on choosing trails. This super boring post (to me) can be a fantastic guide for people who are going to spend their vacation in Slovenia. Such a post is much more shareable on Reddit than a set of random beautiful images with almost no text although I would prefer to see the latter on my Hive feed.

Absolutely, it's all about finding own audience. My posts are boring for most of the people on Earth, but some of the devs and witnesses find them useful.

For your own blog, to find the audience is the only right way, I agree. But when you want to share a Hive post of someone else, you need criteria for choosing one as well as for choosing a subreddit for this share. From time to time, I scroll Hive feeds in search of posts that may be popular on Reddit. When I see a post that seems interesting to me from the point of sharing (even it's a boring post to my taste), I analyze it if it's about a solution or novelty and trying to understand who is interested in such a solution to choose the best subreddit. Posts can be highly entertaining or very beautiful but in 99.99% they aren't enough entertaining and beautiful to make Reddit readers follow an external (Hive) link.

The same thing, if someone wants to write a shareable post, they should think in advance about what use this post can bring and to whom. Until you are a celebrity and everyone wants to see your everyday life and read your random thoughts, you should write posts that help other people.

Well done on the message notification update when resharing a post in a different community. I tested just now. I deleted a removed post and reposted it in a different community, and my notification was immediately updated :) 👍

i have seen that controversial stuff gives more visibility and discussion... like in tv or in real life tough, what divides people's opinions, gets more visibility and talk

TV and news agencies sell controversial stuff, indeed; moreover, negative news sell better than positive ones as I know.

But I guess that Reddit prefers promoting posts with maximum upvotes. So if you want to appeal to Reddit readers' emotions, it's probably better to be with them against their enemy (sharing posts about homophobia in gay communities, for example).

Oh yes, not negative stuff, things "neutral", like "should pizza with ananas be banned forever or not?"... It's not a yes or no, some people will side for yes, some for no, lot of arguments hence views... Still not negative topic
