Reddit POSH is functional and rewarding

Thanks to @hivecreators for the logo above.

Hey everyone, just a quick post letting people, old and new, know about sharing Hive links on Reddit and potentially getting some rewards out of it. We (and by that I mean mostly myself) have found the time to look into these shares again and reward them with some upvotes.

Here's a little how to:

You go to hiveposh.com, login with keychain and now you're registered!

After that, all you need to do is share Hive links on different subreddits. The bot we have in place which still works with Reddit's API (but unfortunately not Twitter's any longer) will then place a comment on the post you shared and who shared it. (note that if the person sharing isn't registered on the website, it'll just leave the sharer username blank)

Then we check the comments placed by @redditposh now and then and give them a few votes if we notice people made an effort to share hive posts and if the shares have done well (gotten upvotes and views on Reddit) we may give them bigger votes as it brings value to our blockchain to get outside traffic onto here.

This project is fully feeless, the comment upvotes go to an account of ours (@nomnomnomnom) which liquidates the rewards for 0% fee, sends them back to @redditposh and then those are distributed to the people who shared the post on reddit based on how their shares did (if there's more than 1 person sharing the same post).

Keep in mind though, that self-voting these comments won't get you the rewards of your upvote, those will instead go to @hive.fund as you can see by certain transactions of @redditposh.

So go out there and share if you have a reddit account, or create one real quick.

In the past we've discouraged sharing within subreddits that are hive-centric but we've opened up a little there to allow people to share in subreddits such as the official @splinterlands one for instance. Meaning if you post or people you follow like to post about SPL, you can share their post on the subreddit (or other gaming subreddits) and potentially earn some hive and POSH from @redditposh.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to ask in the comment section! I know it may sound quite complex but we try to make it as easy as possible for the end-users to share and get rewarded for it!

Keep in mind not to try and abuse this project by voting the comments with alts, etc, as that may lead to a ban so you can't earn hive or posh any longer once we notice it. Also try not to spam it as Reddit may not like that!

Thanks for reading, sharing is caring!

Special thanks to @rishi556 and @hivetrending for building and maintaining @redditposh and other POSH initiatives.

That's gotta be tough. As crazy as it sounds, I feel like people police reddit really bad. You have to find the right subs to post in without getting chastised.

Indeed, it made me leave there...
Was way too much work😭😂😂😂

Although I would love to support posh and zing...

The reddit app is just not for me😭😞

I'm kind of with you there. I use Reddit, but it is mostly to read. I am very careful about what I post there these days. Twitter was nice because it was relatively easy and since it was general it was free of the gestapo.

Yeah it's definitely sensitive at times and moderators like getting the power going to their heads there, lol. Mostly hoping people would give it a try and we could entice successful shares with some bigger votes if we see they're "legit" and bringing traffic to the shared front-end.

Then again I should share more often myself as well instead of just asking others to. :D

Yeah, I have been reprimanded a couple of times for asking the wrong question or posting the wrong thing in the wrong place!

I'll have to check this out. I took a break from Reddit because it so heavily policed by individuals'. Too many places on there are echo chambers as well and it drove me nuts.

Exciting! I have heard of Reddit but haven't really checked it out. But seeing this, I opened an account a few minutes ago by following your post guide and... Viola! I made my first #Redditposh blog.

Finding a suitable sub is indeed a challenge as others have commented.

@acidyo or anyone else have a suggestion where to post a general link on Reddit without getting flagged?

I'm currently posting my links in r/hivevlog but it's small, so not much outside traffic.

My goodness, I was so focused on certain topics that I completely overlooked this. 🫣
Thank you so much. 🤗

What's the reason that the bots don't work with X/Twitter's API anymore? API changes that you haven't been able to look at or has uncle Elon put it behind a paywall?

Nothing wrong with Reddit, but due to the ease of access I feel like conversions through X/Twitter are easier (just a wild guess of course). It just be great if the quality of the Tweets could also be taken into account

It was, twitter was the main function for POSH before the API changes, now to be able to handle our requests we'd have to get the highest tier which is $42,000/month.

42K a month? That's just crazy

I don't really remember how it works. But in case it was constantly scraping twitter to search for the POSH hashtag, would it bee been much cheaper to create a simple front-end where verified users can once a day submit the URL to a tweet?

This way you also promote quality over quantity on Twitter. I might be completely wrong about how it works of course.

I remember when the posh hashtag was going turbo mode on Twitter, the influx of new users on Hive was also great. It became even too spammy to my liking at some point, but my god was it effective.

I quit from Reddit POSH activity in early 2024. Zero effort posts with zero efficiency on Hive-related and dead subs became the norm and I left.

Hive needs marketing, would be great to see POSH as a working tool.

Yeah there's definitely some more overview needed for redditposh, it's just important to get the word out there and get redditposh going to begin with, then we can have more eyes on the shares and the rewarding of them.

I remember you did some great sharing, hope to see you get back to it when you feel like it!

Well done on getting this back up and running

Are you thinking of giving posh tokens as a reward?

yes it already does as you can see by the daily posts it shows the posh rewards sharers of the previous day got.

Congratulations @acidyo! You have completed the following achievement on the Hive blockchain And have been rewarded with New badge(s)

You received more than 402000 HP as payout for your posts, comments and curation.
Your next payout target is 404000 HP.
The unit is Hive Power equivalent because post and comment rewards can be split into HP and HBD

You can view your badges on your board and compare yourself to others in the Ranking

Very interesting
However, in my country, Indonesia, I cannot access or join Reddit.

Damn this stupid censorship 🤣
Some workaround with DNS (cloudfare or Google DNS) could help, but not always

Really very interesting I really want to participate to provide a post there. But I don't understand if there are no screenshots.
