Los conejillos de india son roedores domesticables y existen muchas especies, hay unos con el pelaje largo y otros con el pelaje corto. Son animales muy inteligentes pero un poco tímidos al principio. Se le conoce con diferentes nombres como cuy, cobayo o conejillo de indias.
El de mi vecino es una conejillo de indias, tiene 1 año de edad y se llama Reinita, ella se la pasa en el jardín pero en las noches la ponen en una jaula para que no se escape o se pierda, cuando la cargue por primera vez estaba temblando un poco y luego de que le hice cariños se calmo, cuando tenemos cargado un cobayo hay que tener mucho cuidado porque son muy frágiles y se pueden fracturar.
