Meet the Stray Cat: This Mother Cat Forced Me to Adopt Her Babies!

in Hive Pets2 years ago

In mid-2019, my family and I decided to move into a new house with our cats (at that time there were only 4 cats). Apparently, in our new neighborhood, there are a lot of stray cats. We named one of them as Kuning (Indonesian word for “Yellow).”

Kuning: The Mother Cat who forced me to adopt her babies

Just like other stray cats in the neighborhood, Kuning often eats in our yard with other cats (mine and other stray cats). Once upon a time, Kuning became pregnant and one day, she gave birth. At that time, we did not know where she gave birth and hid her babies, but after a few weeks (maybe almost two months), suddenly, Kuning came back and bring her two babies to our house. It turns out that Kuning is an overprotective parent, so wherever the child is, that's where it is. She also did not hesitate to attack other cats who stay near her babies.

Kuning and her baby cats (first generation). Unfortunately, only one of her two babies survived.

After approximately 2 weeks, Kuning began to go here and there; leaving her son alone in our house. Of course later, she mated with other (male) cats and got pregnant again wkwkwwkk With her disapperance, her responsibility to take care of her son became ours. It’s like she’s trying to say “ human, take care of my son! I’m leaving to make another one!”.

This incident happened for several times.

Not long after that, Kuning gave birth again; of course, at first, we don't know where she hid her babies. After a month, she showed up again to our house with her new children (2nd generation). This time, there is a calicho (three colors) baby (we named it Pinyik). Just like what has happened before, for the first few days, Kuning standby in our house to take care of her babies; but a few days later, she just left like nothing happened, and of course, she mated and got pregnant again wkwkkwk. Thankfully, until now, pinyik is still living a healthy life and being one of the stray cats we feed every day.

As predicted, Kuning became pregnant and gave birth for the third times, and of course she brought her babies to our house again. But unfortunately, kittens in the 3rd generation are exposed to the virus and eventually die.

Next, the fourth generation. This time, the color of the baby cat is predominantly orange. Just like his older brothers, and sisters, he was also left alone in our house after a few days of overprotection. Originally, this kitten was very thin, like it was about to die. But after being treated with love (and a lot of money, of course), he grew into a cute fat cat. We named him Gembul.

This is how Gembul looks like when he first showed up at our doorstep.

Currently, Kuning has 3 other babies and of course, all of them were brought to our house. Hahaha.. I don't know until when Kuning will stay like this.Of course we are thinking about spaying, but it takes a lot of money (which I don’t have). Working as a fresh-graduate dentist doesn't make as much money as people think. Not to mention, my father is retired and he doesn't like cats; he has always been telling me to stop feeding the stray cats around me. But never mind, I’ll keep doing this good deeds! Please wish me luck!

Great photos of your loved ones, they are all so cute.

Have a nice weekend.

Thank you! I just visited your profile and noticed that you have cute cats too. Can't wait to see more posts about them!
:)

Unfortunately, both of them have already left me. But I think I'll keep posting pictures of the them. :)

How sad that these kittens are like this, the ideal is to sterilize the female. So that she doesn't have more offspring, which in the end end up dying.
But I understand you, you try to help as you can and money is always the one that is missing.

I hope you can at least save one of them. I wish you the best of luck.

Sad indeed. Actually we have neutered some of them and still trying our best to spayed some more. Thank you for your support!

Your cats are so pretty, I am having the urge to touch and cuddle with them.
