Hello to all my #HivePets friends, as always it's a pleasure to greet you and write here! 🐼💗🐬
A few days ago I saw @ilazramusic initiative and I found it super interesting, all the posts of those who have been participating have delighted me and I was honored to be invited by @maria27 to participate and I felt even more motivated to join with all of you.
I love all animals actually, I have always dreamed of having all kinds of animals but for them it is better to be in their natural habitat, calm and being happy in their comfort zone.
This initiative really grabbed me, it took me a while to finish it I tell you I couldn't decide which one to start with or which ones to choose 😪.
I'll make my own top of these beauties that catch my attention and I'm crazy about meeting them in person at least once, I'd die to have that honor😍, for now we'll play and I'll take pictures of them in my dreams haha.
Why are they considered exotic animals?
Because they are little known or uncommon species or so called subspecies these are totally different from what we call traditional pets. That is what makes them "rare" or as I personally like to call them "unique". It is said that the vast majority are endangered and many are localized in a certain place.
My chosen ones today are very peculiar and striking to me. Stay and meet them!
1. PINK DOLPHIN (INIA GEOFFRENSIS):
I felt super attracted for 2 reasons, the first one is that dolphins are animals that I adore, they have charisma, love and a lot of peace, the second one is that they are pink colored, that seems super exotic and very beautiful to me 😍.
Let's know a little more about them:
They are the largest river dolphins in the world,
Their character and tonality make them one of the most recognized exotic animals. Their habitat is located in the Amazon River and Orinoco River basins. They feed on fish, small turtles and crabs.
They are the most endangered species of oceanic cetaceans, fearing the unknown and man. It should be noted that it is an endangered and threatened species, there is a high mortality rate when they are kept in captivity.
Something super curious that I discovered when I investigated it in depth is that they turn that beautiful pink color in adulthood due to the deterioration of their skin, incredible isn't it? They are born with a light gray tone. With time they change color. It is known that the male is bigger than the female and they have a stronger pink color in adulthood. I would love to get to know them while respecting their natural habitat.
I want to emphasize that studying these specimens fills me with sadness, such a peculiar species and at the same time so threatened by man, my heart and mind cannot assimilate such an act. I wish they would stop being endangered soon. I wish this stops and we stop mistreating living beings.
Of the 5 species that inhabit the rivers, the pink dolphin is the most popular, it is also known as bufeo, boto, tonina or Amazon River Dolphin.
2. PANDA BEAR (AILUROPODA MELANOLEUCA):
Who wouldn't love to have a big furry friend to cuddle with? Ever since I was a little girl I have loved pandas, how loving they look. I am so excited to be able to talk a little bit about them today, their striking and exotic fur makes anyone fall in love with them. I wish for the day when this species is no longer endangered. Please let's be conscious with them. The love that animals emanate must be respected, their natural habitat too, so today I am allowed to dream with the idea of having them as companions in my home, it is worth dreaming!
Let's get to know a little bit about this great furry friend below:
Pandas live mainly in bamboo forests, in the high mountains of western China.
They have a cuddly appearance due to their plumpness. They feed 99% on bamboo, as well as fruits, small mammals and roots. Did you know that although they are considered herbivores, a panda can also have a carnivorous diet? Yes friends, they have the ability to adapt to it if conditions warrant it.
A curious fact about pandas is that they can lead a quiet and sedentary life without any problem and researching I found out that they can eat more than 10 kg of bamboo in a day, they are natural eaters and sleepers, how cute!
Their fur, although not long, is extremely abundant and thick, ideal for the cold climate where they are located. They have a good sense of smell which helps them to locate existing threats.
As they become more adult, their fur turns yellowish.
They are the most endangered bear species on the planet, hence the urgency to care for them and keep them in captivity in order to contribute to their reproduction. They adapt very well to humans, that is, to their caretakers. They can live more than 20 years in a limited habitat due to their latent danger of extinction.
I would love to invite to join this initiative @alex07samir and @andres03 to also have the joy to talk and share what exotic pets they will choose, I would love to see it, we are waiting for you!
