A couple of weeks ago I rescued a little puppy. The truth is that I had not planned to have pets for now, because the space where I live is small, there is no patio or conditions to have dogs inside the house. I thought it would be a little uncomfortable for any animals that arrived and for me. But, sometimes situations come to us by chance and we have to accept them, or else we could later feel bad for not having done the right thing. In this case, the right thing to do was not let them throw this dog out onto the street.
Hace un par de semanas rescaté una pequeña cachorrita. Lo cierto es que no tenía pensado tener mascostas por ahora, pues, el espacio donde vivo es reducido, no hay patio ni condiciones para tener perros dentro de la casa. Pensaba que sería un poco incómodo tanto para cualquier animal que llegase como para mí. Pero, a veces las situaciones arriban a uno por casualidad y hay que asumirlas, o de lo contrario luego podríamos sentirnos mal por no haber hecho lo correcto. En este caso lo correcto era no dejar que echaran a la calle a esta perrita.
I went one afternoon to get my nails done at my stylist's house and between conversations she commented that her children had picked up some puppies and taken them to the yard, but that she couldn't keep them, that she needed to find a home for them, otherwise, she would have They had to painfully send them back to where they had picked them up: to the street. When I saw them, this little one caught my attention, it was a little black ball that fit between my hands, which is saying a lot given how tiny I have them. He immediately settled down, looking for my warmth. It was really very small. It was obvious that she had barely been weaned without being in time for it.
Fui una tarde a arreglarme las uñas a casa de mi estilista y entre charla y charla comentó que sus hijos habían recogido a unos cachorritos y los habían llevado para el patio, pero que no podría quedarse con ellos, que necesitaba encontrarles casa, sino, tendría que penosamente mandarlos a que los devolviesen donde los habían recogido: a la calle. Cuando los vi, esta pequeña llamó mi atención, era una bolita negra que cabía entre mis manos, que ya eso es mucho decir dado lo diminutas que las tengo. Enseguida se acomodó buscando mi calor. Realmente era muy pequeñita. Se notaba que apenas había sido destetada sin estar a tiempo para ello.
As soon as I got home I cleaned it a little and prepared a space and vessels for it. Then I gave him a glass of milk which he drank immediately. He slept a lot, typical of babies.
My boy was not home that weekend, he was spending a few days with his grandmother, so it was a surprise for him to find the dog when he arrived. We let him choose the name and he finally named her Diamantina.
Apenas llegué a casa la limpié un poco y acondicioné un espacio y vasijas para ella. Luego le di un platico de leche el cual deboró de inmediato. Dormía cantidad, propio de los bebés.
Mi niño no estuvo en casa ese fin de semana, estaba pasando unos días con la abuela, así que fue una sorpresa para él encontrar a la perrita cuando llegó. Dejamos que elijiera el nombre y le finalmente le puso Diamantina.
Now we are waiting for her to grow enough to give her the relevant vaccines and deworm her. Soon I will be sharing new photos of how the new member of the family has been growing.
Ahora estamos esperando a que crezca lo suficiente como para ponerle las vacunas pertinentes y desparasitarla. Pronto estaré compartiéndole nuevas fotos de cómo ha ido creciendo la nueva integrante de la familia.

Porque la falta de conciencia es colectiva y está normalizada. Porque siempre va a ser más fácil ignorar el problema que buscar soluciones. Porque tendemos a someter a los más débiles.
Pero, mientras hayamos personas con intenciones como éstas, no todo estará perdido.
Es verdad, ojala existiera más castigo para ese tipo de personas. Saludos
