My Pets: Coloring, Neo, and Kety

I am a lucky person to have three cats in my life that provide much happiness. They are all unique, and I am just grateful to have them with me. Let me introduce them to you.

To begin with, I have Coloring, the mother cat. Coloring is a beautiful blend of colors of her coat. She's a gentle, quiet cat who is always around to feel when a person craves a hug. I see her grooming kitten Kety all the time, making sure that Kety looks clean and is a happy cat. Coloring has this wise look in her eyes, and I sometimes wonder what she’s thinking. But now she cannot hear anymore due to her oldness.

Next is Neo, the father of the kitten. Neo is, for the most part, a white subject with a few spots of color. He’s a bit reserved but always alert. Neo is a keen observer of events from high vantage points to watch everything going on around him. He’s a protector, always keeping an eye on his family. Yes, certainly that he has a tender side he puts on a tough front. When Coloring and Kety are unplugged, Neo will occasionally stop by to finish up their little family.

And then, there’s Kety, the little one. Kety is the most inquisitive kitten that I have ever come across. She’s always exploring, sniffing everything, and trying to climb on things. It is, no doubt, funny to watch her trying to figure out the world. Occasionally Kety even finds herself entangled in one of her troublesome surprises, e.g., piling down miniature items or running on a circle. No matter what she does however, she is just too lovable to stay cross with her. Her innocent face and playful nature make everything better.

Kety loves following Coloring and Neo around. It’s like she’s trying to learn from them. If Neo takes a leap to a high vantage pointKety tries to make one too, jumping down again and again, even if she often fails. However, she never yields and that is one of those things I respect the most about her. She’s so determined to explore and grow.

I recall the first time I met Coloring and Neo with Kety. It was such a heartwarming moment. Coloring was a licking Kety in a gentle manner and Neo gazed at them intently while sitting beside. They looked like the perfect little family. Since then, I’ve enjoyed every moment spent with them.

Investigation of new things is one of Kety's favorite hobbies. It could be a novelty item, a box, or even my water bottle, but she always wants to look at it. She sniffs it, then puts it in her paw and, at times, even takes a bite at it. Its a pleasure to watch her inquisitive little nose and her wide eyes. It makes me realize things to be thankful for in life.

Neo and Coloring are very patient with Kety. She is sometimes, however, too playful and jumps onto their tails or ears. Instead of getting annoyed, they just let her play. I guess they know that Kety is still growing and improving. It is impressive to observe the amount of devotion and love that they put into her.

Each night they have a habit of convening in an isolated spot and sitting together. Coloring and Neo usually close their eyes and relax, while Kety tries to stay awake a little longer, watching everything around her. Eventually, she falls asleep next to them. It’s such a peaceful sight.

The caring for Coloring, Neo, and Kety has been an education for me to love, to be patient, and to be responsible. Perhaps they are little, but they zeroes all all the heart and put all of the joy into all of my days. Whenever I’m feeling down, just spending time with them lifts my mood. Their purring, jokey, childish antics, and cuddles have a perfecting effect.

I love watching Kety grow every day. She is becoming more assertive and independent but she still looks up to Coloring and Neo. I can’t wait to see what kind of cat she’ll grow into. At the moment I'm just savoring this short period to be with her.

Coloring, Neo, and Kety have become much more than just companions to me. They’re family. They’ve made my home feel warmer and more alive. I'm so fortunate to have them in my life, and I can't wait for many more happy moments with them.
