Este hombre adopta a un perro de 16 años y se asegura de que sus últimos días los pase junto a una amorosa familia
Algo que debemos afrontar cuando tenemos un perro, es que no viven tanto como nosotros quisiéramos. Ellos nos acompañan en parte de nuestra vida, pero pasan toda su vida junto a nosotros, por eso siempre esperamos poder ofrecerles la mejor vida posible a nuestro lado. Sabemos muy bien que ellos lo merecen todo.
Así piensa Zach Skow, cofundador de Marleys Mutts y Pawsitive Change Program, quien se cruzó con un perro mayor llamado Henry en el centro de rescate en Tehachapi, California. El perro de 16 años se veía algo deteriorado, tenía partes ásperas y grises en su pelaje, ya no era tan ágil ni enérgico como los otros perros del refugio.
Zach estaba realmente conmovido y no podía soportar la idea de que este perro pasara sus últimos años de esta manera. Así que sin dudarlo se ofreció para ser el padre adoptivo de Henry en marzo de 2021. Su objetivo era asegurarse de que Henry conociera gente nueva y también creara nuevos y felices recuerdos.
This Man Adopts A 16-Year-Old Dog And Makes Sure His Last Days Are Spent With A Loving Family
Something that we must face when we have a dog is that they do not live as long as we would like. They accompany us in part of our lives, but they spend their whole lives with us, that is why we always hope to offer them the best possible life by our side. We know very well that they deserve everything.
So thinks Zach Skow, co-founder of Marleys Mutts and the Pawsitive Change Program, who came across an older dog named Henry at the rescue center in Tehachapi, California. The 16-year-old dog looked somewhat run down, had rough gray patches on his coat, and was no longer as agile or energetic as the other dogs at the shelter.
Zach was truly moved and couldn't bear the thought of this dog spending his last years like this. So he without hesitation offered to be Henry's adoptive father in March 2021. His goal was to make sure Henry met new people and also created new happy memories.
Debido a su edad, Henry tuvo algunos problemas para caminar con fluidez durante un tiempo, pero sorprendentemente el dulce perro se esforzó por sacar energía de su interior y no pasó mucho tiempo antes de que pudieran verlo paseando y corriendo en el patio de Zach como si fuera un cachorro. Su padre adoptivo apenas podía creerlo.
Due to his age, Henry had some trouble walking fluently for a while, but surprisingly the sweet dog worked hard to draw energy from within and it wasn't long before they could see him pacing and running around Zach's yard as if was a puppy. His adoptive father could hardly believe it.
Además de los problemas de la edad, a Henry le descubrieron que tenía cáncer testicular cuando estaba en el refugio. Por suerte una cirugía le ayudó a superar la enfermedad. Este perro realmente estaba aferrado a seguir viviendo. Zach no contaba con que Henry lo acompañara por muchos años más. Él supuso que por su edad al perro le quedaban unos pocos meses más o menos. Pero el canino desafió día tas día esas probabilidades, y para sorpresa de Zach parecía más joven cada vez.
In addition to age issues, Henry was found out that he had testicular cancer when he was in the shelter. Fortunately, surgery helped him overcome the disease. This dog was really clinging to continue living. Zach didn't expect Henry to be with him for many more years. He guessed that because of his age the dog had a few months or so left. But the canine defied those odds day after day, and to Zach's surprise he looked younger each time.
Por muy feliz que se sintiera por su progreso, Zach no podía quedarse con Henry mucho más tiempo, así que se puso en la tarea de encontrarle un hogar para siempre. Su objetivo, después de todo, era darle a este dulce perrito los mejores años posibles.
Por supuesto, con esa energía y alegría que lo caracterizaba, no fue difícil para Henry encontrar un hogar a pesar de su edad. Su nueva madre lo ama locamente y lo cuida a cada paso, incluso comparte todo lo que hacen en su propia cuenta de Instagram.
As happy as he was with his progress, Zach couldn't stay with Henry much longer, so he set about finding him a forever home. His goal, after all, was to give this sweet little dog the best years possible. Of course, with that energy and joy that characterized him, it was not difficult for Henry to find a home despite his age. His new mother loves him madly and takes care of him every step of the way, she even shares everything they do on her own Instagram account.
Henry todavía tiene la energía suficiente para salir a caminar y disfrutar del sol. Le encanta el aire libre, y sabe que tiene una familia amorosa y muchos seguidores en las redes sociales. Henry pasó de ser un perro mayor olvidado en un refugio, a convertirse en una querida mascota familiar y todo gracias a Zach, quien vio a Henry en ese refugio y supo que aún se merecía lo mejor de esta vida.
Henry still has enough energy to go for a walk and enjoy the sun. He loves the outdoors, and he knows that he has a loving family and many followers on social media. Henry went from being a forgotten senior dog at a shelter to becoming a beloved family pet and it's all thanks to Zach, who saw Henry at that shelter and knew he still deserved the best in life.
