Los cumpleaños de Sandy [ES-EN]

Sandy nació un 19 de abril del 2013. Fue la más chiquita de tres cachorritos de raza Shih Tzu, su madre de pelaje color blanco y su padre de pelaje de color negro, fue la última al nacer, siendo ella la única de pelaje de color negro. Pasado tres meses de haber nacido los nuevos cachorritos, sus dueños toman la decisión de que llegó hora de conseguirle nuevos hogares.

Al poco tiempo los de pelaje blanco fueron los más rápidos en conseguir familia, ella siendo la más chiquita y poco atractiva para los que fueron a conocerla. Siguió en espera de un nuevo hogar, y al pasar un mes de no ser adoptada, sus dueños consideran que es buena idea de regalarla a la familia de mi tío. Todo marchó genial, pues la cachorrita fue recibida con mucho amor por la nueva familia, pero al poco tiempo por motivos de mudanzas no podían seguir teniéndola.

Sandy was born on April 19, 2013. She was the youngest of three Shih Tzu puppies, her mother with white fur and her father with black fur, she was the last one to be born, being the only one with black fur. Three months after the new puppies were born, their owners decided that it was time to find new homes for them.

After a short time, the white ones were the fastest to get a family, she being the smallest and not very attractive for those who came to meet her. She was still waiting for a new home, and after a month of not being adopted, her owners thought it was a good idea to give her to my uncle's family. Everything went great, because the puppy was received with a lot of love by the new family, but soon after, for moving reasons, they couldn't keep her anymore.

Mi tío, sin dudarlo, decide que sería mejor que fuera mi familia quien la adoptara. Así fue que una mañana nos llaman a la puerta; era mi tío, su rostro estaba lleno de alegría, al recibirlo nos dice que nos tiene una sorpresa. Mis hermanos y yo llenos de emoción miramos qué en sus manos cargaba a una hermosa chachorrita de tan solo cuatro meses y medio de nacida; con su pelaje liso, de color negro, con una mira de miedo y de mucha ternura. Desde el primer momento, nos enamoramos de ella. Desde chicos nuestros padres nos enseñaron a querer y cuidar de los animales y ella se convirtió en un miembro más de nuestra familia. En casa ya contábamos con una mascota, en este caso un hermoso perrito de la raza dálmata de 8 años llamado Deco, el cual era de espíritu alegre, enérgico y juguetón.

Al instante nuestro hogar se llenó de alegría y mucho amor. Llegó la hora de elegir el nombre perfecto para la nueva miembro de la familia, hicimos una reunión familiar para así entre todos elegir qué nombre ponerle. Un nombre que fuera divertido, que tuviera conexión con su personalidad, y que nos gustará a todos. Exploramos todas las posibilidades de nombres, fue al divertido y, por otro lado, era algo difícil de decidirnos por uno solo. Al final del día, encontramos el nombre perfecto, estuvimos muy contentos por nuestra elección y así llegamos con el nombre de Sandy.

My uncle, without hesitation, decided that it would be better for my family to adopt her. So it was that one morning there was a knock at the door; it was my uncle, his face was full of joy, when we received him he told us that he had a surprise for us. My siblings and I were filled with emotion when we saw that in his hands he was holding a beautiful little girl, only four and a half months old; with a smooth black coat, with a look of fear and tenderness. From the first moment, we fell in love with her. Since we were kids, our parents taught us to love and take care of animals and she became a member of our family. At home we already had a pet, in this case a beautiful 8 year old Dalmatian puppy named Deco, who had a cheerful, energetic and playful spirit.

Instantly our home was filled with joy and lots of love. It was time to choose the perfect name for the new member of the family, we had a family meeting to choose what name to give him. A name that was fun, that had a connection with her personality, and that we would all like. We explored all the name possibilities, it was fun and, on the other hand, it was a little difficult to decide on just one. At the end of the day, we found the perfect name, we were very happy with our choice and so we came up with the name Sandy.

A medida que pasaron los días rápidamente la cachorrita adoptó su nombre. Poco a poco fue adaptándose a su nuevo hogar, conociendo y explorando la casa. Nuestras demás familias le comenzaron a agarrar mucho cariño, al punto de ser llamada sobrina, y nieta. Nuestras vidas cambiaron radicalmente, pues Sandy nos enseñó el valor de la compañía, la importancia de la responsabilidad y a cuidar de otro ser vivo.

Como Sandy ya era un miembro más de nuestra familia, iba a todos nuestros viajes de vacaciones; era la primera en la lista, pues para donde fuéramos, ella iba con nosotros. Le gustaba montarse en el carro de mi padre, cada vez que ella escuchaba El ruido de las llaves se emocionaba, pues creía que saldría a pasear. A medida que fue transcurriendo el tiempo, mi mamá comentó en forma de broma que le iba a celebrar el primer cumpleaños a Sandy, y de un simple comentario se volvió algo que hasta hoy en día seguimos celebrando.

As the days went by, the puppy quickly adopted her name. Little by little she adapted to her new home, getting to know and exploring the house. Our other families became very fond of her, to the point of calling her niece and granddaughter. Our lives changed radically, as Sandy taught us the value of companionship, the importance of responsibility and how to take care of another living being.

Since Sandy was already a member of our family, she went on all our vacation trips; she was at the top of the list, because wherever we went, she went with us. She liked to ride in my father's car, and every time she heard the sound of the keys she would get excited because she thought she was going for a ride. As time went by, my mom jokingly commented that she was going to celebrate Sandy's first birthday, and from a simple comment it became something that we still celebrate to this day.

A medida que fue creciendo, su color de pelaje fue cambiando a un gris plateado.
Su personalidad es divertida y tranquila, le gusta explorar cada vez que sale a pasear. A Sandy le hemos celebrado todos sus cumpleaños; las primeras celebraciones fueron pequeñas y en familia, pero a medida que pasó el tiempo, se fue popularizando hasta que todos nuestros vecinos y amigos nos acompañaron. Siempre festejamos con alguna temática, como por ejemplo, la de su comida favorita, la cual es el aguacate.

Sandy es muy especial para nosotros, y la consideramos como una integrante especial de mi familia. Las mascotas merecen mucho amor, pues estas nos alegran el corazón y cambian nuestra vida.

As he grew up, his coat color changed to a silver-gray.
Her personality is fun and calm, she likes to explore every time she goes for a walk. We have celebrated all of Sandy's birthdays; the first celebrations were small and with family, but as time went by, it became more popular until all our neighbors and friends joined us. We always celebrate with a theme, such as her favorite food, which is avocado.

Sandy is very special to us, and we consider her to be a special member of my family. Pets deserve a lot of love, because they make our hearts happy and change our lives.
