Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes una historia reciente en la vida de mis hijos, relacionada con sus mascotas caninas.

Sin más preámbulos, aquí les va.

Mis hijos viven en Estados Unidos y ambos son amantes de los perros. En Cuba, siempre tuvieron mascotas caninas a las que quisimos mucho. Entre las razas que tuvieron hubo chihuahua, labrador y salchicha.

Al parecer, han mantenido esa tradición en ese país, ya que mi hijo mayor ha adoptado dos perros a los que trata como si fueran sus hijos. Sus nombres son Bruno y Teddy. Bruno es un American Bully, mientras que Teddy es un Spitz alemán.

En la foto, para que puedan identificarlos, les digo que Teddy es el blanco y Bruno es el más robusto.

Dicho esto, les cuento que esta foto corresponde al segundo año de Bruno con mi hijo y su esposa.

Como pueden apreciar, ambos animalitos están preparados para la ocasión y parecen un par de criaturitas de cumpleaños. La verdad es que disfrutaron de un aniversario como debe ser. En la fiesta que les organizaron tuvieron sus golosinas preferidas, dulces, fotos y comidas especiales para este tipo de animales.

Más allá de la celebración, me emociona el gran corazón que tienen mis hijos y el amor que sienten por los animales. Me conmueve el cuidado que ponen en su alimentación, su salud y su bienestar, ya que salen con ellos constantemente. La felicidad que se nota en estos perros es muestra de lo contentos que están al lado de mis tesoros.

Según me cuentan, estas mascotas son como sus hijos y forman parte de su alegría emocional, ya que les ayudan a olvidar la distancia que nos separa y les permiten volcar su amor y cariño en estos animalitos tan queridos.

Es por ello que considero a Bruno y a Teddy como los dos nietos que mis hijos aún no me han dado.

Today I want to share a recent story from my children's lives, related to their canine pets.

My children live in the United States and both are dog lovers. In Cuba, they always had beloved dogs. Among the breeds they owned were Chihuahuas, Labradors, and Dachshunds.

Apparently, they've maintained that tradition in the US, as my eldest son has adopted two dogs whom he treats like his own children. Their names are Bruno and Teddy. Bruno is an American Bully, while Teddy is a German Spitz.

That said, this photo was taken during Bruno's second birthday celebration with my son and his wife.

As you can see, both animals are dressed up for the occasion and look like a couple of little birthday creatures. They truly enjoyed a birthday celebration as it should be. At the party they organized, they had their favorite treats, sweets, photos, and special food for these kinds of animals.

Beyond the celebration, I'm touched by the big hearts my children have and the love they feel for animals. I'm touched by the care they take with their dogs' food, health, and well-being, since they're constantly out with them. The happiness these dogs exude shows how content they are with my treasures.

They tell me these pets are like their children and are a source of great joy, helping them forget the distance between us and allowing them to shower their love and affection on these beloved animals.

That's why I consider Bruno and Teddy the two grandchildren my children haven't yet given me.
