First Day of Internships

After waiting so long for this day, here we are, starting the internship that will allow me to practice as a veterinarian. For those who don't know yet, my interest is in the area of small animals, which is mainly focused on household pets such as dogs and cats.

It is true that veterinarians should have knowledge of all animals. However, as in human medicine and other careers, there are always specializations. Also, since the veterinary career is so extensive, in my opinion it will always be much better to go with a specialist in one animal species, instead of going with someone who knows everything. The specialist will always have a greater advantage.

For this reason, when we start our internships, we are asked to choose a branch in which we want to extend our knowledge. Large animals (livestock animals) or small animals (household pets).

Of course, I love all animals, but my passion and dedication is directed towards small animals.

On my first day we saw several patients.

Although usually when someone takes their pet to the vet it is because they are feeling unwell, it doesn't always mean they are in a bad mood!

Sometimes I put myself from their point of view and it must be very uncomfortable to have someone checking you out and touching all your body parts, and even more uncomfortable to have a stranger do it.

but it is something that is part of the routine. And well, at first glance it doesn't seem to be something that bothers them.

Not long ago I announced a project I was planning to start on Hive which I called "crypto in 5 minutes". However now that I have started my internships and see that it will consume a lot of my time. I think I will postpone that project until I finish it unfortunately.

I have to devote 100% of my time to my career.

Of course, I will try not to get lost for so long and from time to time bring interesting cases that I have to handle.
