I am unwilling to use any medium today that requires verifiable ID. Generally I can speak here and a few other pseudonymous platforms, but mostly discuss local matters belly to belly, and such events are are generally agreed on such as Afghanistan or the evils of censorship. There aren't many of my acquaintance that approve of either.

I maintain that getting people using Hive is one of the best things we can do to connect global communities together in a real way. Unfortunately, there are all kinds of half baked theories about crypto that have people resistant to it (e.g. it's the devil's work - when really it's an improvement over databases that the naysayers happily use every day).
The silicon valley grid is designed to give the impression that the world thinks a certain way (through censoring dissenters). The isolation of COVID19 for many people on the censored internet just increases this perception.
