STEMng Digest: It's a wrap for 2023

Authored by @gentleshaid

For content creators on Hive, I don't know what the year 2023 will be remembered for. From my own personal point of view, year 2023 is year of constantly pursuing your passion with or without monetary gains. Irrespective of how small, the monetary incentives also go a long way, especially for those of us from developing countries.

The chance to publish my thoughts on a platform where no one will ever remove it, by a press of button to a few that genuinely care, is something that primarily drove my 2023 activities on here. What would you say is your motivation for your doggedness on Hive?

Welcome to a new edition of STEMng Digest.

Who are we?

STEMng is the Nigerian sub-community of the stemsocial community, a community that has been supporting stem authors on the hive blockchain for about four years now. While stemsocial focuses on everyone irrespective of their country, STEMng is specifically for Nigerians. The best stem contents published by Nigerians on the Hive blockchain are highlighted weekly.

Below are the posts that made it into our digest for this week:

Can AI truly read and interpret dreams? The future might answer this question?
AI is taking over virtually everything, including a chance at them interpreting our dreams. Yea, I know that sounds insane, but it is a probability. Our first post for this week looked at the chances of this becoming a reality and the surrounding factors that could clog the wheel of AI interpreting our dreams. I really good read, I must admit.1.@jsalvage:

Weekly Science And Technology Reports - December 24, 2023
Some tits and bits of the interesting reports from the science and technology world. While we all are busy with our day to day activities, scientist are busy investigating and uncovering new discoveries. Some of these are shared in this post. A black hole in the sun? Our monkey ancestors with newly uncovered cognitive abilities? AI that takes selfies? Just read the post to see what else has been uncovered.2.@clinton19:

Polyhydramnios; A Case of Excessive Amniotic Fluid.
I have witnessed a case of reduced amniotic fluid and what was done to remedy the situation. I even made a blog about it. Our 3rd post for this week is a reverse case - a case of too much amniotic fluid. If you have interest in learning about women and pregnancy, this is one of the go-to posts. Virtually everything one needs to know about excessive amniotic fluid during pregnancy was covered.3.@merrymercy:

How safe is sex during pregnancy?
Seems we are ending 2023 with pregnancy, because how else do we explain two pregnancy posts featuring in a week? Anyway, this particular one is not about amniotic fluid. It is about pregnancy and sex. I know a couple in real life that will benefit from this post. Coincidentally, both are on Hive. Perhaps you can guess from the content of the post.4.@oluwatobiloba:

The Ancient World of Sleep Potions and Toxins for Sleep Potions
There is no living organism on this earth that does not need rest. For humans, sleeping, as a form of rest, is such a vital function. A minimum of 6 hours sleep is recommended per 24 hours for optimal function. However, as one grow older or due to medical conditions, one may not get these hours easily. This is why there are sleeping aids in the form of drugs. But have you ever wondered how things were before the advent of drugs? Read this post to get an insight.5.@ireti:
