Hi guys,

Hope we are all doing great and having a wonderful time. It is always such a pleasure to have the opportunity to share things, health advocacy has always been my goal and this community has always made it possible for me to do that.

And so on this day whiles i celebrate my 6th year on the blockchain, i want to say a big thank you to the stem social community and its leaders for their love and support since the very beginning, a place not just to learn but also teach and guide and share.

To all who read and share my writeups and engage with me too thank you, it is such a great motivation to know that your message or education has impacted atleast a single individual and that their ocular health or general health has improved in one way or the others.

So, just as you know i always do it, today i am going to speak about asthenopia and how it correlates with binocular vision anomalies. I do hope that you enjoy the read and if you feel you fall within this category or you may be having a BVA, then do get yourself checked out by the Optometrist.

Context

When we talk about asthenopia we are looking at all forms of discomfort that affects the eye that mostly tend to do with vision. Vision has different aspects to it and none of them can be overlooked or considered irrelevant because the quality of life is directly affected by the quality of one's vision.

The commonest form of discomfort that has to do with vision mostly indicates that one could be having a binocular vision anomaly, is headache. When the ocular system malfunctions or it is not aligned properly or it's overworked, one tend to experience headaches, tension and frontal headaches are more common, and describing your headache well to your Optometrist could help guide his care for you.

These headaches may come up when you read for longer hours or use your gadgets for a while or when you walk around or look at a farther distance for a longer period of time. There is also the heavy sensation on the lid that sometimes comes with pains within the eye. This is also a common one which could indicate something going on with your visual system.

The one that is more likely to drag you to the eye clinic is diplopia or double vision. None of us would be comfortable seeing in twos all the time and so once this is happening we want to find a solution to it right away and unless you have been involved in some form of accident when major or minor that has resulted in diplopia then it is most likely a binocular vision problem.

Epilogue

And so if you tend to experience any of these do not just make assumptions see your Optometrist for care. Binocular vision anomalies can be dealt with for you to have your peace, thus there's not need waiting and struggling when you can get sorted out.

As i wrap this up i would like to remind us all to avoid the use of over the counter medication for care without proper examination or diagnosis from a qualified professional. Remember your sight is your window to the beauty of this world. Be safe and thanks for reading.
