For the first time they achieve quantum teleportation
Engineers from Northwestern University in the United States achieved an extraordinary milestone by demonstrating quantum transport for the first time using fiber optic cables, the same cables that already carry conventional Internet traffic.
The process of quantum teleportation is based on the phenomenon of quantum entanglement, in which two particles remain connected regardless of the distance between them. When one particle undergoes a change in its state, the other instantly reflects that alteration, as if they shared an invisible bond. .
The results of this study demonstrate that quantum teleportation is not only possible but also viable in already existing fiber optic networks, this means that it will not be necessary to build new infrastructure to support these futuristic technologies, instead classical and quantum networks can operate simultaneously making the implementation of these innovations more practical and economical.
