Excessive intake of alcohol they say, can be very dangerous to our health. Today a lot of people have formed the habit of excessive alcohol consumption without knowing the implications that are lined with it.

Well, I have had this believe that alcohol consumption is not bad unless when taken in a huge quantity. Many as well also think in the same angle with me. Little do I know that excessive or little consumption can still have a very big dangerous effect.

Looking at this

Current guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)Trusted Source define moderate drinking as:
1 or fewer drinks each day for women
2 or fewer drinks each day for men

The above reason has always been my believe not until I came across this👇

According to a recent study by a group of scientists at Oxford University in England, there’s no safe dose for alcohol consumption.
The observational study looked at data from more than 25,000 middle-aged adults. The study found that moderate consumption is more closely associated with adverse effects on the brain than was previously known

Looking at it generally you can see that no amount of alcohol is actually safe for our health not even the little you can think of.
Some persons today are passing through a lot of pains caused by alcohol consumption.

Alcohol you know can actually lead to a serious health issue which includes liver disease, cancer and a lot more of them.

Today, I will be talking on the problem intake of alcohol can cause and why we need to think twice before consumption.

immune system

Immune system is a natural body defense mechanism, that helps to defend the body against any microbes or disease causing organism.

Immune system can be strong or weak depending on your diet or the things you do. Alcohol intake is one of the thing that can amount to decrease of body immune system.

This decrease actually makes the body defense mechanism to be down and therefore opens ways for bacteria and pathogen to invade the body.

Recently, it has been observed that people who drinks often has a higher chances of developing pneumonia and tuberculosis more than the general population.

The World Health Organization (WHO) links about 8.1 percentTrusted Source of all tuberculosis cases worldwide to alcohol consumption

Circulatory system

Alcohol consumption is also known to be a major causes of heart and lung disease.
This is actually a major issue as it prevents your heart from performing it's normal body function which could likely result to a very devastating ailment like
High blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, stroke, heart attack and other heart complications.

Liver Damage

Any toxic substances taken are being metabolized in the liver. Therefore alcoholic consumption affects the liver cells by causing cirrhosis.

Also, long term alcoholic consumption could also result to alcoholic fatty liver disease, a sign that your liver cannot perform it's normal body function.

Sexual and reproductive health

Do you know that excessive intake of alcohol has been observed to be one of the major causes of weak sexual urge.

This prevents your sex hormone production, lowers the libido and prevents you from having erection and lot more.

In women, this can also cause changes in menstrual cycle and as well result to infertility.

Do you know that intake of alcohol can actually lead to damage of the pancreas. Damage of pancreas which is an organ that helps in the production of insulin could result to the body inability to absorb glucose. This leads to excessive accumulation of glucose into the blood leading to hyperglycemia(diabetes).

Haven looked at this disadvantages surrounding alcohol consumption, what are the the things that could help someone to stop or reduce the rate of alcohol intake.

Alcohol withdrawal

To stop consuming alcohol is very difficult to some who are already addicted to it. Sometimes it could be life threatening.

In this case, you may likely need the help of health practitioners to help you in this situation. Alcohol withdrawal is very difficult and can come with a symptoms like tremor, trouble sleeping, vomiting, anxiety, headache and sweating.

For you to be able to achieve this, you actually need this👇

free recovery support groups, like Alcoholics Anonymous
online recovery platforms, like Tempest
therapy to help address reasons for drinking and learn helpful coping skills
medical treatment to address symptoms of alcohol use disorder and any related health concerns
medications that can help reduce cravings.source

To some who stopping alcohol maybe difficult for even after going through the above. This are some alcoholic tips below.

Alcohol safety tips
make sure you eat:

if you must take alcohol, make sure you have eaten to avoid becoming fastly intoxicated.

drink plenty of water:

To every drink you take, make sure there is a glass of water beside you.

don't drink too fast:

taking alcohol little by little helps to reduce the amount of work the body does in breaking down the alcohol.

never mix alcohol with other substances:

this is because taken alcohol with some substance like caffeine can actually hide the intoxication level of the alcohol and makes you consume more than your body can carry.

Conclusion

Alcohol consumption can be very dangerous to our health, most times trying to stop alcohol intake seems difficult.

Like I said earlier, if trying some of the things I listed couldn't help you in stoping them, then I would I advise you go through the safety tips I listed in other to reduce alcohol devastating effect in your body. Thank you
