The sculpture extends one arm upward and looks toward the light, thus representing the author's immortality along with the theme of resurrection.
The title of the work is Towards Immortality and Eternal Youth (1907).
Two years after the death of Jules Verne, the sculptor Albert Roze, a friend of the famous writer, used to make the sculpture, the death mask he made for the writer after his death.
