I really appreciate this article. Its an eye-opener. In my area, most people think that water mixed with detergent is the solution to all fire incidents. So when there is an fire outbreak, be it electrical, majority of onlookers will scramble for water and pour. But its now clear that each type of fire has a way of putting it out - using the right extinguisher.

Exactly, and sometimes ignorance escalates problem. I want to agree that there should be publications that will enlighten people about fire and how to deal with such more often on the news and national stations. Just my thoughts, thinking that would help us go a long way dealing with fire with extinguishers. Thanks for your contribution
This is true. Not all fires can be put out with liquids like water. So if the wrong method is used, more damage results. Yes I agree with you that its important for each fire department to enlighten people regularly on standard procedures they should take when fighting fire. Ignorance could be costly
