The term, " technology", according to Merriam Webster's Dictionary, is there practical application of knowledge, especially in a practical particular area; a capability given by the practical application of knowledge; a manner of accomplishing a task, especially using technical process, method or knowledge.
The modern age is doutbless characterized by amazing technological advancement in information, tablet, computer and the internet are prominent. In fact, the internet is referred to as information " superhighway", may be because of the speed and efficiency with which it process information.
Without doubt, there has been a remarkable shift from the Stone, Iron and Bronze Ages to the Jet, Digital or Modern Age characterized by military weapons and the use of technological devices. Dangerous weapons of war such as Weapons and drones, which destroy human lives are produced by powerful nations of the world to destroy enemy nations.
Of all the technological development of the modern world, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) seems to be the most notable and widespread. It cut across every sphere of life such as education, banking, trading, entertainment, government and the military.
ICT has made the world a global village. Major among it's tremendous benefits are the internet and cell phone. Communication and transportation costs have been drastically cut because communication is made cheaper through the internet, especially the social media. This has created chance of accessing life-transforming information through email, YouTube, blogging, Facebook, Hive, Zoom, Slack, Twitter, and instant messaging.
The benefits of technology are unlimited, as it serves different purposes to different people. Without technology life would have been boring, hectic, and monotous. Come to think of it, if there is no social media such as hive how will life be during this lockdown? Personally, social media like hive save me from experiencing a kind of drab and monotous life during this lockdown. I was unable to hangout with my friends but hive created an avenue me to meet friends who are keeping accompany with me. Besides, I have learnt a lot of things since I joined this Noble platform.
