Welcome to Windfall Orchard farmstand for #marketfriday hosted by @dswigle πŸ™‚ https://windfallorchardvt.com Windfall Orchard is in Cornwall, Vermont which is in Addison County in east, central Vermont.

Stop sign

I don't know about you but this is pretty much a stop sign for me 😁 Gotta stop and check it out.

Tent

Here's a view of the farmstand. Some early apples, apple ciders, pizza, a few tomatoes and in the coolers, soups and stews.

Soups and stews menu

I didn't get a good shot of the menu but here are the soups and stews from their weekly newsletter:
Cream of Heirloom Tomato and Basil
Watermelon Gazpacho
Italian Tomato and Mushroom with Parmesan
Mulligatawny
Summer Chicken with Sweet Corn, Leeks, and Mushrooms
Sweet Corn and Wild Shrimp Stew with Applewood Smoked Bacon and Fresh Dug Fingerlings
Spicy Korean Pork and Zucchini Stew with Shiitake Mushrooms
Oaxacan Chili Verde with Pork Carnitas and Wild Shrimp

Pizzas

We were late to the market so most of the pizzas were sold out. Again from the newsletter here's what was made this week:
Vermont Cheese and Herb
Vermont Cheese and Herb with Tomato
The Classic--Pepperoni and Mushroom with Fresh Mozzarella
Summer Veggie-- Leeks, Cherry Tomatoes, Roasted Eggplant, Sweet Corn, Roasted Red Pepper, Parmesan and Pecorino Cheeses
The Windfall-Caramelized Onions, Fresh Apples, Smoked Bacon, Aged Vermont Cheddar
The Chicago Italian--Tender Beef, Giardiniera, Pepperoncini, Jasper Hill Cheese Blend

Faded sign on barn

The faded sign on the barn is cool but you really have to look for it lol

View of the orchard

The view of the Green Mountains beyond the orchard is worth the stop even if you don't buy anything.

Market basket

We bought some cider, apple vinegar, some perry and a desert cider.

Farmhouse cider

The labels are fun and original. This is the Farmhouse Cider mentioned in Forbes magazine "12 Spectacular Hard Ciders You've Never Heard Of" https://www.forbes.com/sites/karlaalindahao/2015/11/20/best-hard-cider-brands/?sh=6869f3674cc8. Our favorite was the award winning Ice Cider. Its super sweet and tasty for after dinner. We have to show up earlier next week for some pizzas. They are my favorite buy at this farmstand.

Happy #marketfriday! Have a great start to the weekend πŸ™‚

Those stalls are so cool. Locally grown produce. And this goes even further than that with pizza, soups and stews. All sounds delicious.

Don't you love autumn farm stands??? I know I do! Even though it isn't autumn, the thoughts of cider and soups really turn my head. I am loving the summer, although I love autumn too.

After thinking long and hard about it, I am not sure I can pick a favorite. Which is yours? If you moved to Vermont, summer isn't it. They really have anice set up and such a tranquil place. Thank you for giving us the nickel tour. That was such an enjoyable way to spend the day! Thank you!
