Hello Hive

Education is an expensive commodity

IMG_20220228_134659_168.jpg

So many people are out of school around here and as many others are prune to drop out because of the expenses associated with acquiring knowledge.
Educations gets expensive as the days passes, starting from the prices of writing materials to the school fees paid in classrooms, only a hand full of persons are able to afford the bills to attend and graduate college successfully.

The school system is so bad that the so called free education offered by the government is so useless, students do not get quality education unless they are willing to pay the price and attend private schools.

A country that values the development of its states and citizens must be willing to invest in education. No wonder this part of the world will most likely continue to remain amongst the poor underdeveloped countries.

Why should books be this expensive

Shouldn't books and textbooks be distributed to learners for free and learning made easy for those willing to acquire knowledge.
I have witnessed countries empower their citizens with different scholarship and student loans, equipping them with the right knowledge for nations development.
They graduate school and still get placement to work and pay back their student loans but after that the knowledge is their to make a living and better their country for a lifetime.
Why can't Africa counties adopt that.
We have a huge lineup of brilliant and bright learners with no opportunity and even the ones who struggle to graduate school have no place to practice, that why the country is witnessing mass migration of doctors and nurses from Nigeria to the European countries.

So much burden is left for the few doctors available that you get to spend hours in clinics with no one to attend to you.

It all boils down to education.
The summary of my shopping adventures to a bookstore to get writing materials for my siblings got me thinking in this direction.

This is Monday Monday book store located in Ilorin, it sells varieties of school materials and children learning toys and tools.

At every school resuming or beginning of exams I do make shoppings for pens, rulers, crayons and writing materials for my siblings.

Children can be so playful to loss all of these items and I wouldn't have my sister seated in an exam hall without a writing pen.

Education is expensive but we have to pay the price and acquire knowledge in order not to be left behind regarding all the happenings and development seen around the world.

Hope you had a good read. And what is the cost of education like in your country?

Sort:

Here in Germany you get education for complete idiots, our forests are being cut down and here inflation is already really hitting the fan.

If things get worse for us here in the Occident, they will get worse in your countries too.
Because the middle class, to which I belong, can no longer keep up its work because of these unbelievable LIES.
If the middle class is cannibalised here, which keeps the whole system running by paying 50 percent of its earnings, we will all soon look very old. Because Germany is bankrupt and heavily indebted, just like the other EU countries.

!PIZZA !LUV and !hivebits for you

Hmm, how sad it feels to hear about all these happenings...

it's sad that the whole world is getting a real bashing here.... it pains me that everyone here is suffering.
Let's wait and see what else they have planned for us.
I pray for all of us.

@Monica-ene, to me I think, exercise books, even text books are distributed, in government schools,"They will even write, "NOT FOR SALE", on it, some school do these before, but most people at the top will not let it get to the bottom,,they denied the children of what belongs to them, they will even asked them to pay if they want to release it, They use to say after all, they pay less for school fees, and all of these are done for the circulations of education, but they will not let it circulate. I think those going to private schools had to face it more, buying educational materials alone worth school fees,

Hmmm, how I wish things are done differently, I can't imagine investing so much to learn and then not having the job to practice what what I learnt.

May God help our country, Not practicing what we went to school to learn is main reason people are learning more skills cos they believe education has nothing to offer oo, some said it's scam, now look at what education has turn to, lazy teachers, one year unnecessary strike, because thier children are abroad, my sister may God help our country

What a lovely market friday you have @monica-ene

this is a very difficult subject, dear! probably the main question: how much does education cost in relation to the budgets of citizens? it's not cheap here, but people can pay for their children's education in schools. it is quite affordable for people. some young people go to serve 3 years in the army - both boys and girls - in order to receive severance pay later. this is just enough to pay for education at a university so as not to take a loan
