Yep In most cases they are made of clay. The only instances where you don’t see them in clay but made of wood is when they wanna sell it to tourists.

Wooden figures are probably better for tourists to carry in their suitcases. Can't break that easily :)
Yep and it will be easier for them to store when they get back to their homes. It wouldn’t break easily when it falls.
