RE: Walking through Spice Souk and Gold Souk in Dubai

in Market Friday2 years ago

Hello @dswigle, thank you for your compliment and comment, I really appreciate it!

When we got to the spice souk I was really a bit confused at first, I didn't know whether to look with my own eyes or through the lens 😮 There was plenty of time, so we stayed here for a while. The spices on offer were really very varied, and to be honest, I didn't know many of them. We bought some whole dried lemons, curry mixtures, tea mixtures and some menthol crystals. I still have to figure out how I'm going to use the lemons 😀

I was surprised by the gold dresses as well, it was the first time I'd seen that too. Lots of people were looking at the windows, and there was hardly anyone in the shop at the time of my visit. Maybe they are a bit uncomfortable to wear, but who cares, they are made of gold 🤑🤣

I agree about the photography, there are always too many people and cables inside the lens. And as you wrote, that's the charm, the fun and the challenge. You know, being in the right place at the right time with the camera turn on in your hand 📷

Until next time!

Whole dried lemons are usually used (whole) in soups and stews. I have used them on fish and they say you can use them on vegetables.

Experiment and have fun with it! :)

Thanks again for joining #MarketFriday!

Thank you for the hint, I'll try for sure!
