What a great market! How lucky are you to have one so close to where you live. Don't you love how you can get your rice of choice? I have a whole aisle of rice here, but, I can guarantee that yours is better.
I have actually never seen a donation tree, no matter how many posts I get from Thailand. I was touched to hear you say that it was usually full. Times are rough right now with so many people being out of work. Why don't we have more fun vehicles to toodle around with?? I love the tuk-tuks and everything north and south of it.
Have you tried those sour specialty seeds? I would love to know why they love them so much? My kids loved those sweet tarts that weren't sweet, but, quite sour and bitter to me... maybe the intensity of it. I get a rush just going through the post, the high energy, getting it done before work starts activity!

I want to thank you for taking the time and effort to post in the #MarketFriday challenge. It is wonderful to see new faces and many of the same faces every week. It has been interesting to see the different cultures surrounding this weekly event. Different cultures. I will always be fascinated by it.
I am sure it is a challenge to try to submit something fresh, or different and I understand not wanting to go into crowded spaces. It is outright crazy that #MarketFriday has survived the pandemic. I just think it is the can-do attitude of all the people. Thank you! Through all of this, we have discovered that we have added a new dimension to the tag. As many have been staying closer to home, we have also discovered more and more about each other, and that has been pretty nice. I have to admit, with the platform broken into different communities and tags, we get to see the same people, more or less that join every week, so we get to know each other a little bit. The challenge points out our differences, but, then, it also shows many things our cultures share. When the day is done, it shows off how human we all are and how we basically all care about our families and others. We embrace each other as humans.
This experience is so heartwarming. I appreciate the love and support given to #MarketFriday! Your participation adds a piece of your world, and I have to say, people are interested in is seeing it. Thanks again for everything. I do like sour so I'm always up for tasting new things. Normally the sweet things are just too sweet for me here. Yes the markets are jumping even at 530am. I used to go to another one after the soccer/football matches when the world cup was on at 2am I'd go for breakfast at the market at 4am and it was full of people. Speaking of the donation tree times are hard here financially. The word is still July for opening the borders for tourists so let's see how that goes. People surely need the cash to start flowing again on the island!

I love the markets that are open at 4am. Better than going to a diner, isn't it? Although, I do miss the New England diners and breakfast. Just not the same here in Washington, DC. Times are worse than tough on the places where hospitality is king. I have to wonder how anyone has survived, even here, with the unemployment so widespread.
I look forward to July. That is where much of the US will start to flow also. Here's to a stable future for us all.

Well the beauty of the culture here is that when times are tough people join together with pleasure. Unemployed hotel workers are welcomed back to their families in other provinces and people staying here will live together to save money. Most landlords have cut the rents in half (not for foreigners of course haha) and banks delayed the credits for a long period as ordered by the government. Of course some people do suffer but in general Thais are used to waiting for a bad situation to change.
I can honestly say that I have never (since 9/11) seen a banding of people without complaint. It warms my heart and I know the Asian culture is very much like that all the time.

Indeed unity is the key. Oh I can't complain my rent is already incredibly cheap by western standards :)
