RE: Making it Merry for Market Friday

in Market Friday3 years ago

Ahh, the much maligned fruitcake! I think most people that don't care for it (as I was once one of them) just never had a "good" fruitcake. Collins Street Bakery has a pretty good fruitcake and the only other fruitcake that I had and loved was made by my first mother-in-law (God rest her soul). She was awesome, her son not so much. She also made them at least three weeks in advance. I made them with her one year. I sure do miss her and our wonderful times together. I would totally give your fruitcake a try though .. I will send you my address straight away. 😉
Anyway, great post as always Denise! Wishing you a beautiful and Blessed Christmas!! 💕

Where have all you fruitcake lovers been hiding? There was Nary a person that would touch a fruitcake a couple years ago! I will tell you that I just love them and I have always eaten them because my mother made them and her mother before that and her mother before that. Fruitcakes of always been part of our life. When I just read that back it sounded a little bit but that act like we don't have anything but fruit cake in our life but you know what I mean! I would gladly send you a fruitcake just put your address in this box.

There's no accounting for the sons of wonderful women. Seems like the nicer they are oh, well I won't go there in the spirit of Christmas. I want to thank you so much for stopping by and leaving your words and wishing you a very very Merry Christmas. Can you believe that it feels like spring is in the air?

#MARKETFRIDAY LOVES YOU!!

You're very welcome! I'm a bit of a snob I guess as just any "run-of-the-mill" fruitcake won't due..lol. I bet yours is delicious though and I bet it smells "heavenly" in your house while they are baking in the oven!! 😉😋
Yes, it seems that way but as you said "in the spirit of Christmas" we will leave that one alone. I will take this kind of Winter weather any time. Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas also!! 💞

Haha! You are not quite the snob that I am! I have never found a bakery or anywhere in fact that can beat my mother's fruit cake, and of course I mean that in the nicest way. I have never been tempted to keep trying them I have tried a few and been sorely disappointed so oh, I do what any red-blooded American would do. I make my own. Of course if I was really a red-blooded American I would just buy it at some Gucci store and call it macaroni! Love to you my friend and Merry Merry Christmas!

Taken in the nicest way too! Lol..you got me ROTFL over here with that macaroni comment! Take care and have a lovely Holiday!! 😊
