Enslave or Empower .:. Walk & Talk Series

Today was a festive day in Spain, or National Day of Spain, known in Spanish as Día de la Hispanidad... It should be one of the biggest holidays in the country, but somehow I didn't get that feeling... When we celebrate Christmas, New Year, or some other festive, all stores are closed, people are with families, etc. But today, many supermarkets were open and working for a whole day...

I suppose that happened as Spaniards (or lawmakers in Spain) wanted to connect the National Day with the conquering of America from the past... So, in some way, what Spaniards are celebrating as a "positive day", is viewed completely opposite by countries that were conquered by Spaniards in the past... I suppose that saying “history is written by the victors” is very valid in this case...

All that made me think about how things were done in the past, how they look at the present, and what the future brings to us... Can we make a difference, how we can do it, what needs to be done, etc? Of course, HIVE can be a valuable tool for shaping the future as it is already shaping the present for many people!

Check out the short walk-and-talk video that I recorded this morning...

Thank you for your time,

Of course, we actually rename it as day of the race. Día de la raza, as most of our legacy comes from a mix of races, except maybe Asians. Black, white and amerindians confirm the national mix we know now. Although even that is somewhat incorrect. As many amerindians didn't mixed or even Europeans tried to keep withing their own race.
Right now there is a big debate regarding spain not apologizing for the invasion that did here and if it's a valid argument. For many decades a pro European government seemed to side with the European land owners by granting them more benefit over the more local people working it.
So apologizing and having a case for reparations is a step to make the countries in LATAM whole after the genocide, and exploration of natural resources without the locals getting any benefit from it.
Of course this narrative have their opposition as people claim it brought us more cohesion, peace, a civilized model of ruling and a more important role than just a territory as we eventually became a vice-kingdom with it's own government.

So apologizing and having a case for reparations is a step to make the countries in LATAM whole after the genocide,

When I was living in Serbia, the same narrative was on mainstream media... How one country should apologize to others for one thing, and then another country to the first one for something else... In the end, it was more of a "pan y circo" scenario, trying to blind people from real issues and problems that BOTH countries had in those moments...

Maybe, but you can apply the same thing about Korea and Japan. After all the expropiation of gold was real. And indemnization is a real thing around the world, only difference is that within a country you have a judge, but internationally is different.

Hello! These historical festivities always have their contradictions depending on the point of view from which we look at them. Indeed, the phrase you quote is perfect in this case.

Congratulations for the new home. Surely as soon as Mipiano can, she will take us, with her special way, to know the corners of the new place where you live. Greetings to both of you.

Hehehee... As half of the home is in a mess, she will not show it yet... But, I suppose she will show a few things when we finally finish with moving and take it easier... Maybe in a week or two... or three... 😃

Maybe in a week or two... or three... 😃

It will be when it should be, now the important thing is to be comfortable in the new home, there will be time to be in Hive. Greetings and a hug for Mipiano.

Creo que hay muchos "be" en ese párrafo 😂.

Haha the familiar dog sounds...

Interesting point you made about the majority/minority point. Not just about cryptocurrencies, I think it's the same when it comes to investments and markets. People tend to chase the hyped names and often buy high (and then sell low). And when the price is low, they don't want to invest. And to them, people who manage to succeed, like those who bought and hold BTC through the cycle, are always "lucky".

!LUV

That's a good example... It's very rare to see a LOT of people winning, as usually only a couple are winners... If everyone hypes into something, the probability of success is getting down... Especially if we hype when everyone does... it's too late... 🙂

In a world filled with slavery both historically and currently, but less obvious, empowering is a necessary counter-movement to keep things relatively in balance.

Yeah, @mypathtofire just mentioned the "present slavery" that many aren't aware of... We are slaves to so many things, and it looks like enslavement just changed shape, but stayed a well-established way of controlling people...

All that gives even more importance to empowerment and the crypto movement as a way of achieving a different lifestyle!

Definitely empower, creates a positive feedback loop that makes the world a better place. I think sometimes looking into the space can help a lot in making the future better.

Interesting observation! Looking into the space is indeed a great way to place ourselves in the right place... We are just a small piece of sand, and we have that huge space for discovering!

The dogs wanted to get in on the video too. There is the question of who makes the laws? Only a tiny minority of people owned or could even afford slaves in the past, so it hard to know if the majority of people were for or against slavery imo.

Coming to the modern times, we could argue that since the introduction of income taxes, we are also all enslaved. Free people should not have to hand over any of what they earn to other people. Hopefully crypto can fix this.

Huh... I agree with you 100%! We are still enslaved, but willingly enslaved... I have to mention again the C19 thing, which was a great "experiment" when people WANTED to be locked and enslaved!

I hope that crypto will fix some things and pave the road for a better way of living... That's why it's important to EMBRACE it, and not quit at the first bear market, at a price drop, etc... THe whole thing is much bigger than the crypto token price...

C19 was an intelligence test and many failed..I hope crypto can make thing better, I know a few guys scarred from Terra Luna still though and didn't come back in this cycle.

Is that really what he said in those days? 😃

Yes I saw the video. 🫣😄

I also think it's better to empower others rather than enslaving others. I don't think there is much you can do about the past. So they can just make up for what they can. However, I don't know if I think paying people is the right choice. It's a hard decision.

I don't think there is much you can do about the past.

Exactly! History is there to learn from it and to do things differently in the present and future!

mipiano mentioned that you will probably move. good luck with that.

Thank you! Yes, we had the whole day today of moving things, fixing, cleaning, re-organizing... Fun times...

Spain influence has a huge impact here in the Philippines. Specially Paella I love that dish! 😊

Hehehehe... That's for sure one of the positive influences! 😃
I ate paella 2 days ago and it was tasty as always!!! Love it!

It’s a pretty fascinating blend of influences in the world that we are made up of. It’s truly a global civilization!

It is... And it's not just a one-way street... Mixing different influences is, in most cases, beneficial for all parties involved!
