RE: Let's Talk Straight about Hive

There is not much of ways for Hive to generate revenue, because we have to face the fact that there needs to be some sort of revenue. We can't pay for things just by inflation forever.

I mean obviously we can, but then we shouldn't be surprised that the price is going down. Because, this system is clearly creating winners and losers. And losers are the people who are investing in Hive. People who are investing either their money or time in Hive.

And the winners are people who don't care, and dump every penny they receive as rewards.

Think about all the idle farmers games on Hive. Crownrend, Terracore, you name it. They are a microcosm of what is going on right now with Hive.

And we don't or can't even use tools that we have properly.

HBD APR is a great tool, conversions are a great tool. But then they are hampered by liquid HBD rewards everyone gets.

No one has a reason to convert Hive to HBD. Because HBD on internal market is almost always below peg, and people dump their liquid HBD rewards and it continues to stay below peg.

But if this hampering was not going on and HBD went above the peg. Then at this price we would have been burning ton of Hive. (~0.5 HIVE burned to receive 1 HBD)

And the other thing is that inflation from HBD APR and HBD is price dependent.

If I converted to HBD today at $0.10, I will give 10 HIVE. And let's say Hive's price doubles to $0.20 some time later. When I convert back from HBD, I'll receive 5 HIVE.

But I don't see a political will to change up the liquid rewards. I don't even think that I saw a discussion on it in recent times. Only discussions I see is that price is down let's panic and cut HBD APR.

I think for one we need to jack the DHF return proposal much higher. Value plan should never again get funded in my opinion!

Agreed!

We should treat DHF as a public fund. If you are receiving funding from DHF. I want receipts for everything you are spending that money on item by item.

And not some off-hand we spent 500 on this 300 on that, I want actual receipts.
