A controversial issue. It touches us Cubans very closely, there are very few countries to which we can travel without requesting a visa. In fact, any country of the European Community is almost a utopia for us. That is the main cause of the illegal emigration that is our daily bread. It is no secret that the economic situation of this country is becoming more precarious every day and people emigrate in the hope of finding improvements, that will continue to happen, but if we could travel freely or with fewer restrictions things would be much better.

Maybe it looks like a surprise, but I do understand... Me and my family did something similar when we migrated to Spain, luckily, we didn't have to do it illegally... But, using threats, sanctions, and fear, to keep people inside your country (or trying to prevent them from going to your country) is bad in so many ways... and it doesn't solve the problem for nobody... Time will probably show that as always in the past...
That sucks a lot... That sounds like burning books in the time of the Spanish Inquisition! 😔
Let us hope that someday all these obstacles will be left in the past and that the human right of free mobility, for this planet that is our home, can be fully exercised.
