And just when you thought you were fine....

I guess you have already read a thousand of my stories about how I really don't like flying. Now I have to admit that when choosing flights I also tend to look at things amongst safety, because it helps with my stress level on there. The Boeing max was not on my happy list, and I try to look at airlines that have decent safety records. And yeah I know this doesn't always help anything because there is usually not 1 single reason for a disaster situation, but just the idea of it already helps with the anxiety.



Admitting....the views from above especially in the night are spectacular!!

When I have the chance to fly with a bigger airlines who in general are in good shape (when the money problems come, very often also do the maintainance issues), that is nearly always the option I will take. Unless...you know I am a Dutchy and cheap...so there goes that one. Principles out of the window in a second.

So when I recently booked a domestic flight with one of the bigger Asian companies, as skyscanner said this would be a flight with a A321 which I like. Turns out that walking towards the aircraft a small plane with propellers is waiting for me. Crap....down the drain the good intentions went. Hello stresslevels!!

Now admittingly...I know from previous flights in small aircrafts (one of the worlds shortest runways...yeah, I known that one and it wasn't even that bad) that takeoff is pretty easy going always, because you don't make the steep rotation as jets tend to do. They just off very gentle. And also midair it doesnt feel terrible except for the fact that the sound is way more radical because of the rotor blades. That you also hear a lot better when there are different movements in the air, for instance when the descent starts.

Also because they don't fly that high altitude it feels like they are more prone to turbulence. I have no idea if this is actually the case honestly. I read while waiting in line to step into the plane that the cockpits nearly has the same types of instruments as a jet...

But you know...the main starts making weird thoughts!

Most of all...I just don't like the idea of rotor blades spinning 1 meter next to you. Again...it is all in the head, that is why I am seeking distraction by randomly writing.

That is how I am typing at this moment. I will be glad when we are on the ground again
