When life throws challenges in our way, our first response often is procrastinating. We're in a state where we just want to distract ourselves so that we don't have to figure out we could overcome these challenges, meet the deadlines, or study for our exams.
We also often think that we'll get away with it, that we could just watch some tiktoks and shorts for hours without having to face any negative consequences; which couldn't be further from the truth! There's a price for procrastination that each and everyone of us shall and will pay.
This price could vary in its form: it might be having to deal with even more tasks that have accumulated during your procrastination period. It could also be the regret you feel knowing that you could've been somewhere completely different if you've never procrastinated.
But, let's be honest; there is not a single person on this earth who never procrastinates.
As humans, we need breaks; but they have to be intentional! Like saying: well, I've done enough work today and I need a walk, I need to hang out with my friends, or any other thing that counts as a break to you, but again it has to be intentional!
As opposed to the period you spend just watching short videos, moving from this app to the other one, losing track of time and not even enjoying it.
I don't want to give general advice, but what I'd like to say is: figure out a way to deal with stress, figure out a way to eliminate or minimize procrastination because it's just a killer of time and energy, it will make you consume your energy worrying instead of acting. They often say something like waiting for crises to happen is worse than it happening. That's exactly what procrastination does; it keeps you worrying about a deadline instead of acting upon it.
Find your own way, do not worry much about what worked for other people, sure it will inspire you to find your own solution, but it doesn't mean that what worked for other people will work out for you.
This is a very important matter because if you don't figure this out, expect to lose most of your time, energy, and attention. If that's okay to you then you have nothing to worry about!
Procrastination is so easy and I think that’s why it’s also very difficult to break the habit!
Exactly, it's effortless, that's why we tend to choose it
