Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom was developed in 1993 for arcade machines by Capcom. It is a walking brawler, in a very polished edition. It was created for slot machines and the Sega Saturn as part of the Dungeons & Dragons Collection, along with the sequel Dungeons & Dragons: Shadow over Mystara. This installment features four protagonists: Fighter, Elf, Cleric and Dwarf. The main difference from many other walking brawlers, instead bringing it closer to titles like Golden Axe, is the fact that each character uses a weapon. The gameplay mechanics themselves are quite simple and similar to games like Golden Axe, namely, going to the right, the player faces more incoming enemies, such as kobolds. The graphics are two-dimensional, but it happens on many levels, so there is the possibility to go "deep into the screen", making the gameplay actually three-dimensional.In Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom there is also a multiplayer mode for four players who cooperate with each other - each then directs a different character. The game, in my opinion, is the best of all parts as well as at a very high level of 2D games in this category you should definitely play.
