Day 22 of the Debmar Atlantic 2024 Project - Saturday Work

in WorkLife2 days ago

This is an account of yesterday's work day. There were some really cool pictures too!

Let's start with this one. This is on the West Coast Road on the way to Town in Milnerton. At this distance, you usually get a amazing view of Table Mountain, but the mist was thick so I took this picture.

No traffic, because this is 6:30ish on a Saturday morning!

But before I could take a picture of the mountain up close, this visual delight greeted me!

The Steam train was coming, through thick fog, billowing out steam and with a cold orb of the sun trying to burn through the fog!

It looked pretty awesome. I was really happy with the opportunity to take these pictures.

Once on site, we are now right up to the mountain, perhaps a few kilometers to the base of the mountain and yet you still cannot see the mountain!

Anyway... onwards to work stuff. We needed complete the plantroom installations yesterday and make a start on the piping replacement since the Freezer room pipes are leaking somewhere we cannot detect, so its all coming out.

Here we can see Barry, aka @loadreaper busy removing the old piping from the ceiling... do understand... he is not standing on a step ladder...

Like the prehistoric Giant Sloth he is just standing there, reaching beyond ceiling level and into the void inside the ceiling without a ladder.

So I said to him... can you touch the bulkhead for me real quick... yep... he can touch the other level. You know there is a staircase that leads to that level right?

Must be nice...

So we completed another sign off at the Chillers and finished the Freezer.

Tomorrow, Monday we need to complete the piping and certify Vacuum on the other Chiller.

Progress is in!

Basically another week to go on site on our main works!

Cheers!
