I have a stressful job. The main reason for that is that I am responsible for other people's work but I am not doing the work myself. So I cannot work harder to complete deadlines.
This is the fate of the Site Supervisor.
All I can do is facilitate the work.
I can make sure that the staff is in place, the permits and safety procedures have been followed. I can make sure that they have all the stock they could ask for and I can make sure that staff have been informed and teams communicate well with one another.
After that, all I can do is track, measure and guide the works.
So when things go wrong, people look at me.
When things go right, they look at the technician and congratulate them on a good job.
When the PROJECT is finished. Then I get a congratulations... maybe...
This post is super late... it is about YESTERDAY.
This is because of a combination of having a dinner guest, being exhausted and being very busy today.
Wish me luck, because TODAY has been a... shit-show...
