Time-Lapse Chef - Episode #1, "Big Ben"

Today, dear foodies, I present to you (drumroll please) "Time-Lapse Chef"!

I absolutely love cooking, more so than your average Joe, I think (just check my smörgåstårta for starters). I also like doing time-lapse videos, which you can see in my sunrise-post.

This past autumn I thought, why not combine the two? Maybe something fun will come out of it? And if not, at least 1) I had some fun cooking, and 2) I made some food that people (hopefully) liked, and 3) I got to do some video-editing (which I also like). Hell, maybe someone needs to cook today, is missing a bit of inspiration and wants a recipe?

Hence, "Time-Lapse Chef"!

Today, I'll be cooking "Big Ben". I don't know where the name comes from, or if it's even a real thing. I suspect that it's just something my mom made up to make it sound cool...

Aaanyway! Without further ado, let's get to the video! (You can find ingredients etc. below the link.)

Yeah, I'm still using YouTube. I do like the video platforms on Hive - some more than others - but they have quite a lot of catching up to do when it comes to user-friendliness and features, compared to YT.

Prep time: 30-45 minutes, depending on knife skills
Cooking time: 4-5 hours (in total)
Feeds: 2 Big Ben will feed about 8-10 people, you might consider doubling down on the salad, depending on your company.
Difficulty: 2 / 5
Chef-iness: 2 / 5 (rustic grub for an informal get-together)

INGREDIENTS:

Big Ben (2)
3 large cans of tomatoes (crushed or similar)
4-6 garlic cloves
3-4 medium-sized onions
4-6 dried chilis, spicy
Tabasco
Dried red sweet paprika
Appr. 1 kg / 2 pounds of pork (can be subbed with beef)
2 large-ish loaves of bread, with crust
200-300 g grated/shredded strong cheese

Salad and dressing:
½ large lettuce head
4-5 tomatoes
1 large red bell pepper/paprika
A couple of tablespoons of Greek yogurt
Oregano
Dried red sweet paprika
Tabasco

For everything:
Olive oil
Salt
Ground black pepper
Beer (at least one for yourself)

How to cook this:
1 - Watch the video.
2 - That's it. Just watch the video. It's up there ^.

I sincerely hope you enjoyed the read and the video. If you cook this yourself, get creative, get in touch and let me know how you did! I hope you have a great rest of your day, wherever and whenever you are.

This looks amazing! I'm getting hungry and getting a feeling I should try something like this..

I did feel a bit bad for the dog though, he seemed to be left out.

Naaaw @apsu, the dog is fine, he's always super curious when I'm cooking, that's all. Besides, he got dinner at the same time as well, just before we started eating (look at 10:20-10:45). :-)

Really looking forward to learning more from you.i love what you do
