Competition as it is in many sense sounds bad. Honestly it does but if we recount some of the greatest inventions, the rise and fall of empires, you would notice it was caused by competition.

The greatest civilization or world powers today still compete, why you may ask, that's because it's makes them better. So if that's it then competition in music is very important. It's many advantages can't be over emphasized. Looking back to the history of circular songs, no African musician was really appreciated for his/her music, well it was not just racisms but because we really haven't be giving good contents. We are all about the beat and nothing more.

But when the competition became more intense you could see musicians like Burna boy standing at the top of things, even at the top he had to change pattern a little, why because the competition at the bigger stage needed it, Rema, Davido, and Wizkid, just to mention a few.

Well the christian musical genre isn't left out we are getting to the bigger stage, many songs like those of Franck Edward, Dunsin Oyekan, Nathaniel Bassey, and Mercy Chinwo. We could see their songs are being sang by many people from different races. Not saying this are all we have many others.

I am a vocalist, a shy one, I only sing in the shower so I don't think I am that good. But if I want to get better at singing I need to compete . I love watching the voice, do you know that show. You see and hear wonderful voices, angelic once competing for a prize. We get entertained yes, but it's those competition that give this people more drive to be better.

Competition is something we can't remove from nature, it's has been there and it makes things better. It's called many names some of which are "selection of the fittest", "only the strong survive" etc. what ever it is called it always tend to push us to be better. After watching those competitions I normally do voice training. I wish you could hear me sing, still rough though, but I am getting better.

I don't know if it's possible, going with the spirit of this post not just weekly prompt but a competition should be organized by @afri-tunes , whose with me?
I shy away from competition, but I would try.

If we take the competing out of music, believe me it would sound like listening to cows moow while dogs bark at the same time.

Ask @zico20, he is an instrumentalist, he is a member of this community, he would concur.
But not withstanding competition too can bring the downfall of some. Especially if the person can't deal with loosing, you get to see the best wallow in defeat and become what I don't know.

It's just a parcel of life Everything that has an advantage also has its disadvantages.

But we should make the best out of the competition, not result to violence and all out war... It's something we see everyday, "eliminate the competition".
Anyways we should be positive.

Thanks for reading my post, and for also visiting my blog, see you soonest.
