I picked up a bag of these Vanilla Gelato buds, the sweet skunky flavor and cushioned buzz was delightful - the Pink Apricot hybrid plant's growth has been explosive since transplanting last week.
Vanilla Gelato
The Vanilla Gelato indica dominant cannabis strain was created with the crossing of the Gelato and Blue Power strains (Source).
Sweet and bright vanilla citrus lemon-lime and slight diesel scent from these Vanilla Gelato buds.
They have light greens caked with amber and white trichomes, dark orange pistils.
The Roll-up
The Flavor
Sweet lemon-lime citrus skunky with a touch of diesel spice flavor, mouth tingling - plenty of zing.
The Feels
A mind numbing calm gently sweeps over, eyelids relaxed, bubbly and giddy feeling. These laid back, lazy eyed Vanilla Gelato buds are more suited for staying in - solid cushion, eyelids are still lazy the next day.
Pink Apricot Transplant
Last week was Week 3 of the Pink Apricot hybrid grow - one of the Pink Apricots, that is in soil, was in need of a transplant to a larger container.
I drilled holes in the bottom of this 5-gallon bucket, added river rocks to the bottom for extra drainage, filled the rest with quality soil.
Then transplanted the Pink Apricot hybrid to it's new home.
With plenty of room to grow, this plant has made huge growth in this past week.
A new set of leaves are filling in every couple days, lower sucker branches too. These Pink Apricot hybrid seeds weren't feminized, so there's a possibility this vigorous grower is a male plant.
Male cannabis plants produce pollen and not buds - for my purpose, males would only be useful for breeding. When a lower sucker branch is large enough I'll clone this plant then send it off to bloom it too see if it's male or female.
If it's male then I'll collect the polen and destroy the plant and the clone. If it's female, then I'll have some nice buds approximately 80 days later - and a for sure female clone to grow larger for bloom.
Two Pink Apricots we're being grown hydroponically, but I've removed the weaker of them, so the clone will be my fourth legally allowed cannabis plant.
Looks good
Thanks - good to see ya again :)
Ill have to find the video about a method of growing that use rocks like you did, but they add more layers underneath the rocks. IN total there is 4-5 layers in a pot, and it mimics a aquifier in nature. It is really neat! That is looking healthy, did you decide on no hydro, or is this just a seprate thing your doing along side the hydro?

The river rocks are mostly quartz crystals, makes me wonder if they're giving off some good frequencies - much more work would make more sense with a perennial I suspect ;) I kept one Pink Apricot in the hydro setup, I feel like it would take a very large system for hydroponic to make sense for me to put the work in the dial in the nutrients. I'll have 2 tents soon too, so dirt planters would be easier to move to another tent than hydro - I'm going to have a variety of bloom times coming up.
I had the water level too low on the hydros for the first two weeks, that's partly why it's stunted I suspect. :D
as you described the taste must be really good. the kind of taste among my favorites. then it's beautiful. I wish you many good smokes😊
Thanks - the sweet citrus vanilla skunky zing to these are an eye opener, just before the heavy eyelids kick in. Many tasty smokes to you too :)
