Durban Violette buds and crossbred seeds have been harvested, two more weeks until bud sampling. The Orange Apricot, Pink Kush, and Apricot Kush seedlings are growing vigorously, the crossbred Orange Apricot most of all.
Durban Violette harvested
After ten weeks of bloom mode, the Durban Violette buds and seeds were harvested. This cannabis plant had about twelve weeks of vegetative growth time before going into bloom, giving these buds a large structure and harvest.
The majority of the pistils had already dried to a bright or dark orange, the remaining quickly matured after harvest.
The buds have vibrant light and dark greens, some purple tones, and an even coating of THC trichomes.
They have a sweet lemon fruity cinnamon, and bright pungent fuel scent to them, just a couple more weeks before smoking these beauties.
Seeds Collected
Last week, the lower Durban Violette bud that was pollinated with Apricot Kush pollen was harvested.
Pollinated bud
This week I broke up the bud to release the crossbred seeds - a good haul, more than eighty seeds with a wide range of potential. The cannabis plants grown from these seeds could be pollen producing males or bud producing females, the bud effects and flavor could be anywhere inbetween the two parent strains - for each seed.

Bud Harvested and Trimmed
After ten weeks of bloom mode, this Durban Violette was ready for harvest. Each stalk was snipped and strapped upside down to a clothes hanger for drying.
The buds were only hung up long enough to get the large fan leaves and buds snipped off the stems and onto trays, I wanted to give these thick buds lots of air surface to dry. Check out those trichomes and purple tones in the bud photos below, fitting for the name Durban Violette.
Even the big cola top buds were snipped down to size, these buds were already sticky, the trimmed leaves were saved for future hash making, the buds were laid out on trays to dry for a week. After a week of drying the buds will be weighed and placed into air tight containers for a week of curing.
Orange Apricot
This Orange Apricot cannabis plant has had four weeks of grow time, transplanted to a larger container a few days ago. Impressive growth, it was grown from a first generation crossbred seed.

It's mother Orange Barb had large leaf and bud structure, tall in bloom - she was crossbred with Pink Apricot pollen, a short strain with dense medium sized buds.
You can see this Orange Apricot plant was moved to the previous Durban Violette tent, soon it will be cloned, trained, and in another week put into bloom mode.
Pink Kush
This Pink Kush has had four weeks of vegetative growth. Grown from a feminized seed, this plant will produce buds, when eventually put into bud mode - but since I know this plant will produce buds, I will keep it in vegetative growth for another three or four weeks.
Week 2 | Week 3 | Week 4 |

I transplanted it to a larger container after the third week, you can see the impressive growth it has had this past week, the roots must be well established. The bottom branches are growing vigorously. Soon I'll give this plant some bent stem training, to help keep the canopy level.
Apricot Kush seedling
The Apricot Kush has had three weeks of growth since sprouting, many additional leaf nodules have grown in since last week.
Week 1 | Week 2 | Week 3 |

The plant has decent height to it, I'm hoping by next week the plant will grow larger and wider, transplanting to a larger container will help with that. The existing container size is probably enough, but this way I will be sure to not stunt the growth, and it will allow more time inbetween waterings.
Below on the left you can see the Apricot Kush was transplanted, the Pink Kush is in the middle. The container of dirt on the right is prepared to soon receive an Orange Apricot cutting to make a clone in a few days before training.
That Durban Violette looks like some serious stuff bro, you did a fantastic job!
Those veg plants are looking great too 👍
Thanks man, a good size harvest, just in time there's been too many males lol. The veg ones are in their stride now, they all received bent over stem training yesterday :)
Exotic yield and congrats! 👍
Thanks, these tasty looking buds should last a while. Canadian strain names, Durban Violette is supposed to be a Purple Papaya variety, a 60/40 indica leaner, looking forward to sampling the buzz :)
Those look great! A couple weeks of drying? Looks like you're going to get a great relaxing smoke there!
One week to dry, but at that point the outside of the bud is drier than inside, so another week in an air tight container will cure that so the buds burn evenly and tastily, worth the wait :D
Looks like it's going to be awesome!
Looking great. Very beautiful and you have a great work. Its a result of your hard work.
Thanks, one of the benefits with indoor grows is being able to dial in the plant's needs :)
Hey bro- made an account on here to hit you up lol. Been following your Durban Violette run. Cheers on it, looks 10/10. Growing a Durban violette as well, currently in week 6 of flower. Looks vastly different than yours due to training differences, but bud structure is similar. Mine smells like fuel and peanut butter. Also growing a pink kush, but has zero smell and is giving nute issues. Looks like you have everything dialed in, and would love to pick your brain on some growing advice if you’re down!
That's awesome you signed up, cool you're growing a Durban Violette too, after harvest the peanut butter scent goes away, mine are almost dry and I'm picking up fuel sweet grape flavors, it'll have a smoother taste with more flavors after it fully dries and cured. I'm pretty sure it's a Purple Papaya strain variety, 60/40 indica leaner, smooth buzz. I find the home grown especially better buzz and flavor compared to dispensary. The Durban Violette I topped once, that was enough for the branches to catch up. What type of lights are you running? My Pink Kush is doing well, I just gave training last night, a couple weeks away from bloom mode :)
She sounds like a solid terpene profile to me. Even the stem rub from early veg was highly skunky, so I think it’s high in VSCs too. I also topped mine and tied down each branch daily, but it flowered early on me. So I have more of a stout, square canopy with lots of golf ball-sized nugs. Next run I’ll try more of your training technique. I’m using Mars Hydro TS600s for each plant and this will only be my second harvest, first was bag seed
Nica colas too!

They look very healthy
I love it
Nice pictures!
Picking the seeds out brings back memories eh?
Lol, man, back in the day it must have been from outdoor grows, seeds in the weed seemed the norm. This one bag I had gotten the buds were so packed with seeds, smoking that bud made me sober lol.
LOL!
