Taking part in contest is not about winning. It's about increasing your engagement with people, and supporting those who make the effort to host the contest to drive up activity on Hive and make it a fun place. Don't be blinded by whether you win or not
What you say is very true, contests are a good way to make people interact with each other, and thus grow commitment through comments
