The start of a new week, back from the holidays - it's breaking nugs, blazing, and cannabis news time. These are the four cannabis news stories that caught my eye.
"State lawmakers discuss new bill to legalize marijuana" - KRQE
New Mexico state lawmakers discuss new bill to legalize marijuana. A group made up of law enforcement, medical professionals, and politicians meet to discuss an open cannabis market. Rep Javier Martinez discusses how he believes New Mexico could be a leader in cannabis and that it could be legalized the right way, he will soon be submitting a new bill to privatize recreational cannabis and to treat it like liquor. The Gov has previously expressed that she would like to see cannabis legalized this session - high hopes for New Mexico.
"Marijuana edibles, vapes and tea available in Ontario pot shops" - Global News
Cannabis edibles have recently been legalized in Ontario Canada. The online and walk in Ontario Cannabis Stores (ocs.ca) will be carrying various cannabis edibles soon - along with vape cartridges. Mark takes us on a walk through of one of the Ontario Cannabis stores for a quick chat with the head bud-tender about the gummies, chocolates, and tea bags - many new products available.
"Concerns raised over cannabis edibles ahead of release - 680 NEWS
There is a limited range of edibles being shipped to stores - there is a large demand that they will need to step up to meet. With many of the edibles looking similar to candies, there are worries that the cannabis edibles may fall into young hands - this also keeps edible dose levels low. Professor Brad Poulos doesn't believe it's the job of the government to regulate, but the responsibility of each adult to properly store away their cannabis products. It is important for comfort to be careful with edibles, it's best to start with a low dose.
"Legal age to buy cannabis in Quebec is now 21, the highest in Canada" - PTC News
In the Quebec Province of Canada they've recently raised the recreational cannabis age to 21. Interesting to note that many Ontario youth travel to Quebec because of their lower alcohol drinking age of 18.

Glad to see my old state NM finally doing something right for a change. Hopefully the corrupt hacks in AZ will do the same this year.
