Breaking-Nugs and Smoking-Buds, checking out the cannabis news of the day - the sweet smell of decriminalization is in the air, these are the news stories that caught my attention.

"Cleveland Safety Committee votes to remove penalties for 200 grams or less of marijuana" - News 5 Cleveland

Looking through a modern lense, the Cleveland (Ohio) Safety Committee votes to decriminalize the possession of 200 grams or less of cannabis. People being locked up frivolously for cannabis possession is one of the major motivations for this decision. They are not immediately looking into pardoning of previous charges, but this is the first step of many towards ending the prohibition of cannabis in Cleveland, Ohio.

"Governor adds legalizing recreational marijuana to 2020 legislative agenda" - KRQE

The New Mexico Governor has added legalizing recreational cannabis to the 2020 legislative agenda. Democrats are in the majority of the New Mexico house and senate, but putting the question of recreational legalization to the voters is an option. High hopes for New Mexico.

"Colorado bill would make it illegal for employers to fire people for smoking marijuana off the clock" - 9NEWS

Medical cannabis user had a job at Dish Network but was fired for failing a drug test, despite him not being high during work time. With recreational cannabis legal, a new Colorado bill would make it illegal to fire employees for smoking cannabis in their off time. The chamber of commerce is worried it may prevent certain industries from enforcing their zero tolerance policies for high risk jobs.

Waiting for Arizona to join the modern age with cannabis. Good for my old state of New Mexico to be ahead of AZ for once.

I hope it comes sooner than later for you, a liberating experience being able to purchase and smoke 'legally' - a shame it was ever illegal in the first place.
