Hello friends and community, I hope you’re having a lovely day! Today we return with another fan art inspired by the Rising Star Game cards. In this case, it couldn’t be any other than the E12 Harp card, a card that, in its original design, shows a harp and has 200 Luck. It’s one of my favorite instrument cards, so today we’re going to make a redesign, just as I’ve done with other cards, but in a more colorful, cheerful, and cartoon style. We’ll be inspired by the game’s original art but give it our own touch. If you’re ready, let’s draw!
Hola amigos y comunidad, espero que estén teniendo un lindo día. Hoy regresamos con otro fan art inspirado en las cartas de Rising Star Game. En este caso no podía ser otra que la carta E12 Harp, una carta que muestra en su diseño original un arpa y tiene Luck de 200. Es de mis cartas favoritas de instrumento, así que vamos a hacer hoy un rediseño, como he hecho con otras cartas, pero en un estilo más colorido, alegre y cartoon. Nos inspiraremos en el arte original del juego, pero le daremos nuestro estilo. ¡Si están listos, vamos a dibujar!
I will start by sharing my final result. As you can see, I kept the elements of the original card, aiming for a new style that is more modern and with exaggerated proportions. The harp remains as the main subject of the card and the identifying texts are preserved, although much more color, more dynamism, and some shines and gradients are added.
Empezaré por compartirles mi resultado final. Como ven, mantuve los elementos de la carta original, buscando un nuevo estilo más moderno y exagerando proporciones. Se mantiene el arpa como sujeto principal de la carta y los textos identificativos, aunque se agrega mucho más color, más dinamismo, y algunos brillos y degradados.
I will start with a sketch of my card, where I will place the elements. I will be using different line colors to create separations. I will draw the frame of the card, the harp as the central figure, and the details in the form of text. Since it is a sketch, I am not looking for a polished result, I simply want to have a general idea of how my drawing will be structured.
Comenzaré con un boceto de mi carta, donde ubicaré los elementos. Estaré usando colores de líneas distintas para crear separaciones. Dibujaré el marco de la carta, el arpa como figura central, y los detalles en forma de texto. Ya que es un boceto, no busco un resultado prolijo, busco simplemente tener una idea general de cómo quedará estructurado mi dibujo.
When I am completely satisfied with the result, I simply lower the opacity of my sketch and unlock the layer. Ready to start drawing the line art, I will be using Ibis Paint for this, and one of the default brushes, one with pressure sensitivity that I will adjust to a medium line thickness. The line art of my drawing will be entirely in black.
Cuando estoy completamente satisfecho con el resultado, simplemente bajo la opacidad de mi boceto y desbloqueo la capa. Listo para comenzar a dibujar el line art, estaré usando Ibis Paint para esto, y uno de los pinceles por defecto, uno con sensibilidad a presión al que ajustaré con un grosor de línea medio. El line art de mi dibujo será completamente en negro.
A few minutes later I already have my line art finished. I tried to make the lines not too neat, so they would have their own personality. I also added a bit of shadow to mark the difference between the level of the card and the background. Now all that remains is to remove the visibility of the sketch layer.
Unos minutos después ya tengo mi line art terminado. Traté que las líneas no quedaran tan prolijas, que tuvieran su propia personalidad. También agregué un poco de sombra para marcar la diferencia entre el nivel de la carta y el fondo. Ahora solo queda quitarle la visibilidad a la capa de boceto.
Now I begin to color. I will start with the harp, which will be made of wood and will have some textures, as well as the luck symbol. Then little by little I will color each part of my drawing, leaving for the end the structure of the card and a small background.
Ahora comenzaré a colorear. Comenzaré por el arpa, que será de madera y que tendrá algunas texturas, también el símbolo de luck. Así poco a poco cada parte de mi dibujo, dejando para el final la estructura de la carta y un pequeño fondo.
This is how my drawing is looking so far. I want to try to imitate a little those holographic cards typical of trading card games. I really like how the card’s cardboard turned out, with those wavy purple lines.
Así va quedando mi dibujo hasta el momento. Quiero tratar de imitar un poco esas cartas holográficas típicas de los juegos de colección de cartas. Me gusta mucho cómo quedó el cartón de la carta con esas ondas serpenteantes de color morado.
