In my opinion this song is like one of those songs that you can't take out of your playlist, not because it is excellent in itself because of the music (which it is), but because there is something in it that makes you think, so that you question yourself a couple of things before letting yourself get carried away by the rhythm again. At least that's how I see it.

If you don't know this song somehow comes to mark a new stage for Rigoberta, and honestly, it feels like that moment when you take off your shoes after a long day. It's a relief. Not that what she did before was bad, not at all. In fact, “La Emperatriz” is still an album that I loved at the time, but this new track has a different feel to it. Does it happen to you that sometimes a song catches you just when you need it? Well, that's what happened to me with Si Muriera Mañana. The fact that this single is a preview of her new album, due in 2025, makes me think that Rigoberta is cooking up something big. And yes, it's still a year away, but it doesn't bother me, because I prefer her to take her time. Sometimes I think that good things take time, don't you? Or well, that's what I tell myself so I don't get desperate haha😅.

Something I find interesting is that the song has some philosophy behind it. According to what I was seeing in her social networks Rigoberta said that she was inspired by a fragment of the novel The Idiot, by Dostoyevsky. Let's see, I'm not one to sit down and read Russian novels every day, but the little I know about The Idiot is that it deals a lot with the transience of life, which is exactly what Rigoberta wanted to convey with this song. I don't know how deep she wanted to go with it, but what I do know is that the idea of “if I died tomorrow” makes you think, if only for a while, about what we are doing with our lives. Well, maybe I don't want to get existentialist, for that there are gray days, but hey, it's a good reminder to seize the moment.

I also see that it teaches us to be a bit optimistic. I say that because the song talks about that desire to keep enjoying life, without fear of death, but with the energy to eat the world. You know what I mean, don't you? It's that feeling of being in a good place, like when everything is going well and you don't want it to end. I personally had something like that happen to me recently, like when you have a streak where things are flowing. It's like everything aligns. Sure, after a while, reality hits you again (let's not kid ourselves), but while it lasts, you enjoy it. And this song is just for those moments when you're on top, or for when you want to motivate yourself to get there.

The song was produced by María Vertiz, and to be honest, I didn't know much about her until this track. After hearing how “Si Muriera Mañana” turned out, I started to investigate a little more and the truth is that the collaboration between these two seems tailor-made. It's as if they both understood perfectly what the song needed. I don't know if it's because the song has those rhythm changes that take you through different moods, but it seemed like a very successful combination. In fact I started looking for other of her productions and I highly recommend her as she is very talented.

Now, let's talk about the music video. I'm not the biggest expert in analyzing music videos, but something that caught my attention was the fictional movie aesthetic. The way Rigoberta appears in the video, as if she were the protagonist of her own movie, made me think about how sometimes we feel like the main characters in our lives, until something happens that knocks us off that pedestal. It has happened to me more than once, when everything seems to be going great and suddenly something changes the script. But in Rigoberta's case, she seems to be the one writing her own script, which is funny. I think it can be interpreted in several ways.
