Good morning friends, another day begins. Today is a nice Wednesday and I hope it is for all of you. Comrades on this day I want to share with you some interesting things, first I am going to tell you about a very interesting musical news. In this case I would dare to say that it is a bit special, yes, because it is about one of my favorite songs. Comrades I am going to go straight to the point, the song I want to tell you about is “Set Fire to the Rain”. This is a song by the very well known singer Adele. I am more than sure that many of you have already heard this song, especially because it is one of the most famous songs of the singer. For those of you who don't know this song was released in the year 2011. Now I'm sure several of you are wondering, where is the news here? Well the answer I'll give it to you now, today marks 13 years and 3 months since the song was released. So I thought that to commemorate this date it would be interesting to tell you a little about it here today.

The first thing I would like to know, if you want to answer me in the comments, do you remember when you heard it for the first time? Surely not the exact day but if you have an estimate. In my personal case I do remember the year. I could listen to it specifically in 2017 when I visited a cousin's house and he had the song on his computer. From that moment on I started listening to it very often. In fact several years have passed since that day and it is still one of my favorites.

That song has something, I don't know what, that hooked me from the beginning. It's even a bit shocking. I dare to say again that few songs have pleased me as much as this one. Not if maybe it's Adele's voice, which always seems to come out of the deepest, or maybe it's that mix of sadness and strength that transmits. The thing is that it is very special, at least for me. The title already leaves you with a raised eyebrow, doesn't it? “Set Fire to the Rain”... I mean, how do you do that? It's impossible, but there's the magic, that feeling of doing the impossible when you're in the middle of an emotional storm. I'm sure you know what I mean.

So far I've told you how much I like the song, but I haven't yet mentioned anything about why I actually like it. But now I'm going to mention that. The first thing that struck me was the way Adele sings. It's like she's talking directly to you, but in a conversation where she's just venting everything. And, I don't know, it reminded me of those times when you're trying to explain to someone how bad you are, but words just don't seem to be enough. So you wrap it all up in metaphors, because nothing else explains it well. Who hasn't felt their heart catch on fire in the middle of a cold rain? Well, maybe not literally, but emotionally speaking, that happens. That's why I feel it connects well with me.

The lyrics themselves are super intense, talking about a relationship that, well, is over. But it's not one of those sad songs where you're left wallowing in your misery. No, “Set Fire to the Rain” has something more... like a kind of release from the pain. The part that sticks with me the most is when he says, “I set fire to the rain, watched it pour as I touched your face.” That image is so visual you can almost see it in your head. I picture someone standing in the rain, doing the impossible to try to save something that's beyond repair, and it gets to me, because who hasn't been there at some point? Trying to grasp the unreachable.

Of course, the song goes way beyond just a breakup. I think it touches on the theme of those empty promises, of when you believe in someone and that person just doesn't measure up. It's a strong thing that Sometimes you think someone is the greatest, but then you find out it was all smoke and mirrors. And Adele sings that with so much feeling that it's impossible not to connect. I've had those kinds of disappointments, maybe not dramatic enough to write a song about, but enough to understand the pain behind that voice.

And speaking of the music itself, that mix of dramatic piano with the orchestral arrangements seems to me to give it the perfect touch. It's like the song is not only meant to be sung, but to be felt. Sometimes I think about what it must be like to sing something like that, with all that emotion in my throat, and I get chills. There must be a lot of pressure. The song itself makes me a little nostalgic for personal reasons haha😅.
