Adult Education: Daryl Hall & John Oates - My musical choice of the day and Rising Star Statistics

Hello, everyone! Today I will be continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.

Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me keep track of the songs I have used so I dont end up repeating them. The last song I talked about in my last post is: Fortunate Son from the band Creedence Clearwater Revival.

My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Adult Education from the Daryl Hall and John Oates.

Adult Education is one of those songs that I discovered in a pretty simple way, without really looking for it, as happens with many others. It was during a music competition with friends, something we had done once before and really enjoyed.

For this second edition, we decided to change the dynamics a little. Each of us chose 30 songs and we listened to them one by one to see who had the best musical taste. The competition lasted about three or four hours, basically all night long. We argued among ourselves every time we gave each other bad scores. One of the people with the worst music was @ydaiznfts, who received the most negative votes for selecting a playlist with current Argentine music and pure depressive and lo-fi music.

In all the chaos, a song came up that caught my attention. I suspect it was a song that a friend had selected, but I don't really remember well. I'm talking about Adult Education by Daryl Hall & John Oates, which I ended up liking quite a bit. That led me to add it to my Spotify “Likes” and eventually explore more songs by the artists.

The music competitions were one of the most enjoyable things we did during those weeks in December, as we had a great time and laughed a lot. It was an opportunity to explore new music and find out who in the group had the best taste in music. It should be noted that I ended up winning both competitions.

Daryl Hall & John Oates is an iconic music duo formed in the 1970s in the United States. Throughout their career, they ended up mixing various genres such as pop, rock, and soul, giving us iconic songs that are still heard in different places today.

In their early days, they released singles that came and went without much fanfare. That was until they hit the jackpot and released their first hit as a duo: She's Gone, a song that is still listened to fifty years later. They also cemented their status as a duo after the release of Rich Girl and Sara Smile.

Adult Education was released in 1983 and was not part of any studio album, but was released as a single. It was very well received and was a trend on radio stations in the United States at the time of its release. Although it is not one of the duo's most recognized songs today, there is no denying that it was one of the singles that helped launch their career.
