Greetings to all dear friends of Rising Star, Today I am very happy to be able to share with you a new article in my blog. I want to tell you some curious facts about a very interesting instrument the saxophone. And, as usual, at the end of the post I will present you some fan art I have created, inspired by our beloved game, Rising Star. Without further ado, let's get started.

The saxophone is a musical instrument that can be considered either a woodwind or a brass instrument, depending on its construction material. It is characterized by its conical tube, a mouthpiece similar to that of the clarinet and keys that allow the player to control the emission of air to produce different musical notes. It has proven to be very versatile, finding its place in genres ranging from jazz and classical to rock and popular music. I personally like him a lot, I find his music relaxing haha😅.
Who created or invented it? If you have that doubt, Antoine Joseph Sax, known as Adolphe Sax, was a Belgian musical instrument maker who created the saxophone in 1840. Interestingly, the invention of the saxophone was not intentional, Sax was trying to improve a clarinet, but the result was a completely new instrument, the brass clarinet. This new instrument filled the “gap” so to speak between woodwind instruments (such as the flute and clarinet) and brass instruments (such as the trumpet and trombone), which was very useful for military bands of the time.
French composer Louis Hector Berlioz was one of the first to recognize the saxophone's potential. He wrote a sacred hymn for six wind instruments, including the saxophone.
In honor of the saxophone's creator, Adolphe Sax, World Saxophone Day is celebrated on November 6. This is a special date for lovers of this instrument. Did you know?
The saxophone is famous for its ability to adapt to many musical genres. In classical music, it is used in works by composers such as Ravel and Debussy. In jazz, it is central to the sound of legends like John Coltrane and Charlie Parker. Even in rock, bands like The Rolling Stones have incorporated the saxophone into their songs.
There are several types of saxophones, each with its own range and timbre. The soprano saxophone has a bright, clear sound, the alto is common in jazz bands, the tenor has a deeper tone and the baritone is known for its deep, resonant sound.
Although associated with brass, some saxophones are made of alternative materials such as wood and plastic. This not only affects the weight of the instrument but also its tone and resonance, allowing players to choose the instrument that best suits their style.
- Rare Saxophones, In addition to the more common Saxophone types, there are some lesser known saxophones, such as the Sopranino Saxophone (smaller than the Soprano) and the C-melody Saxophone (used in the 1920s).
Rising Star Fan Art
Now, changing the subject, I present to you my post #55 about some of the fan art I have done with the help of DALL-E, inspired by our beloved game, Rising Star. In this post, I have again used the card theme along with several elements from the game. For example, I've added the star (how could it be otherwise), some instruments and singers to give more personality to the images. Some of the images also have futuristic and retro touches, and I have added sceneries and concerts to give it a special touch.
The images are free to use, so you can use them from this publication without any problem. I reiterate that they have been made by me with the help of DALL-E.
I hope you have enjoyed this journey through the history and curiosities of the saxophone. And I hope you liked the fan art. See you in a new publication. See you next time, friends.
