My Rave Ideas

Raves is an exciting new play mode in Rising Star and it's being constantly improved and enhanced. And always in search of new ideas "however crazy" as stated @ Discord server. Well, here are a couple of them, exactly like needed.

"Pump Up The Volume!"

Pay XXXXX Starbits to make your Rave the loudest and the hottest one! This would attract xx% of (unarrested) ravers from three other raves for xx minutes.

Only one Rave can be the loudest one at the same time.

My thoughts: Don't know if it's good idea to mess with the calculation of ravers from the technical side but being able to temporarily "steal" a percentage (and NOT a plain number) of ravers can help counter the dominance of a single rave when everybody's just yoloing all in. And an another Starbits sink.

"Special Guest"

There was a bonus card back then in rave test phase, and it made me think about a "Special Guest", an old and mandatory discontinued card, what can visit and perform at a rave. But such people are VIP's and very busy, so they can attend only one single rave. Of course what one with the most fans!

Let's make an example to make it clear:

1 . Special Guest event must be started by burning a certain amount of Starbits, that is used as a fee for our performer. It doesn't start before the whole sum is collected. But this amount must be collected before the rave ends, otherwise it starts from zero again and Starbits spent are not refunded. So players have to work together to set the ball rolling and not just waste their Starbits.

2 . After the fee is paid, we get to know who our special guest is.
This time it is the magnificent "1 The Busker" with his favourite instrument: "i6 Midrange Acoustic".

This is the spoiler content.

I think this event should consist of at least two cards (one people and one instrument) in order to reduce the impact of someone who owns a high percentage of a certain card. What also means a whole band of 4-5 people and their instruments can be required. Needed cards can be chosen randomly before each event or predeterminated by Rising Star.

3 . Then players compete with other raves for the right to host the performance by sending "1 The Busker" AND "i6 Midrange Acoustic" to their rave just like their FA cards.

These cards would not affect anything rave related and would only count for the special guest event. But I think the stats of the cards send can also be deducted (if feasible) as if the cards were sent to the storage.

4 . Rave with the most "1 The Busker" and "i6 Midrange Acoustic" cards "staked" in it at the end of the rave wins and gets the performance.

As a reward the winning rave can get some extra SWAP.HIVE but...

What about a special unique low-stat NFT Card "RSG 1 The Busker"? (RSG = Rave Special Guest and not some useful marketplace site)
If a single copy of this card will only be issued to the players in the winning rave and only to players who contributed at least one card to the rave's pool, I can see things escalate quite quickly.

My thoughts: I believe here we get a nice Starbits sink and a useful utility for pretty much every single old card, a common one and a legendary one. Raves as a source of very limited unique cards will be very tempting for collectors and rewarding for small players.
Creating a new card every couple of days may be an issue though, but there is a high Starbits fee, which can act as a hurdle. If it's high enough we may see a special guest maybe only once a month.

Sort:

I quite like the idea of the "special guest" with the winning rave getting a special NFT. Not sure if people would like the idea that if the event didn't kick off then all the STARBITS would be lost though. It would actually be a lot easier to just use the current dancer mechanism to do this and would encourage more people to click. Maybe there could be a separate "Guest Appearance" bar that grows based on the total STARBITS sent to the dancer pool for all raves and once full the next dancer is a special guest.

Great idea!

Hey, I'm glad you like it.
Just burning Starbits is indeed a little wild approach, but it should encourage players to cooperate and spend their Starbits purposeful, and not just wait because "sooner or later it would start anyway".
