Believe it or not - I have dragons for pets

in Photography Lovers3 years ago

Okay, you caught me, they're geckos. Мore precisely leopard geckos. But look at this one's eyes and tell me he doesn't look like a dragon?

When I posted it on Facebook, everyone noticed the resemblance. They said it looked like Smaug from The Hobbit.

Аnd this is the other one. The name of the first is Lamya, and of the second Hala. These are the names of dragons from Bulgarian mythology.

They live in separate terrariums, because otherwise they fight and bite each other.

Their favorite food is mealworms, but they also like to eat crickets and cockroaches. It is good to give them calcium powder, because otherwise they can develop bone problems. In general, however, their cultivation is not difficult, as long as you have made them a quality terrarium.

Leopard geckos change their skin once a month and then eat it. In nature, they do this so as not to leave traces to be noticed by predators.

Geckos always look smiling and friendly. They are very tame pets and most of the time like to rest in the warm part of the terrarium. However, they do not mind being taken in hand and even petted.

Hive Power Up Month - Feedback from Day 21

Love the eyes in the first shot. I used to have geckos as pets when I lived in Japan. They are a lot of fun.

I love me some leos. probably one of my top 10 favorite animals, too. Super cute, curious, and content. I had several in my time and most were tame enough that they willingly climbed into your hand to be picked up, petted and "played with."

I also really enjoy that perpetual grin they have on their faces!

A photo of my girl from 10+ years ago, showcasing that wonderful smile.
