Yesterday, I spend some time exploring area that I have moved to. It is actually quite close to where I was living before, instead of being down in the valley, I am now above it, looking down. It's interesting how some places can be so close and yet we do not always explore them. I always thought that there was a lot more houses up this way, but it seems I was wrong and what I found, well what I found, was some of the most majestic Olive Trees, I have ever seen.
I just love all the gnarly bits on the Olive Tree. It is so great to see this elders, left to grow more wild. Usually they are very cultivated around here, which makes it easier when you wish to harvest the olives. One thing I loved about where I used to live, was how big and majestic the Olive Trees where on there. Turns out, I don't have to look too far to find some just as magnificent, as the ones I left behind.
This one up above, well it just blew me away. Firstly, there is something very feminine about it's shape and secondly, I could actually walk through it. (I only had to bend slightly to get through). The fence that you see in the background (if you look close enough), is the end of the land that I just moved to. So this beauty is in fact, my new neighbour. I have always seem Trees as our elders and when you take the time to sit with them, to bask in their energy, you will understand why I make such a statement!
This beautiful Tree, also had a window, where you can look out and get a clearer view of the fence that surround the land and the outlines of the alberca, (which is a reservoir) which situated at the top of the land. There is something quiet magical about stepping into a tree, it really brought me back to my childhood and the many times I wanted to find such a tree, which would not doubt lead me into a magical world.
I love the shape of this one, it is as though something else is growing alongside it. The shapes of all those gnarly bits. It's like something from another world, maybe I was transported, when I stepped through that other tree lol.
And the magic and wonder continued as I walked around. I feel so lucky that these majestic trees are more or less on my door step. Tomorrow I will take my girls to meet them, no though they will be just as excited as I am! Once again I am feeling very blessed to live in such a rich and vibrant part of the world.
.
Yes so ancient xxx
what beautiful, ancient looking, artistic, almost alien but definitely very much alive these trees seem. Mist feel powerful to live in their vicinity. Amazing energy!
They are stunning Vincent, there are so many to see as well, there is a walk near here with a 1000 year old tree, I will be doing that soon and will share what I see. Sending you love and hugs xxxx
Awesome! Reminds me of ancient trees, bent by the wind, on the Canary Islands
Returning your love and hugs with interest
I love these tree photos. What wonderful characters.
They are so majestic, thanks @sallybeth23 xxxx
Beautiful. I have a baby olive tree, wonder if it'll ever grow big like that...
These trees are quite old, at least 600 years I believe. I am sure your tree will be just as beautiful in a few centuries xxxx
oh wow how lucky are you!!! It's super cool that in the end you didn't have to say goodbye to your beloved olive trees at all! they all have such personalities don't they? Super special!
I know, how lucky am I. I am really feeling it right now, there are so many more to discover as well xxxxxx
This is awesome.
Oh how I love trees! These look ancient though, I think the only thing close to seeing one thing like that would be the major oak in Sherwood Forest! I’ve started dabbling with woodturning and as I live in the woods, I pick up bits of logs that have blown down on my walks with the bulldogs. Sometimes the wood is too rotten to turn, but other times, it is just amazing to see how intricate the wood is and I get excited to see what it will turn into! Great to see you are still living the best life ❤️❤️❤️
C and the bulldogs xx
Oh wow, that is so exciting, wood turning is something I would love to try one day. You have been busy, I hope you will show us some of your creations. Love these puppy pictures as well xxxxxx
Seems like you have all the great neighbors around you! First the donkey and now these trees! Their energy is truly amazing. I always feel so nice amongst these wise souls!
I know they are our true elders. and yes I have the best neighbors right now xxx
