📷 Window Reflection and Ferris Wheel at Night [EN/DE]

On my last day in Las Vegas, I took an evening stroll through a corridor that connects The Sphere with the famous Venetian Hotel and offers a great view of the traffic on the street below through its glass walls. But the glass also reflected the people and lights inside. This allowed me to use both elements for my composition, playing with the aperture and focus to emphasize or de-emphasize the individual elements.

An meinem letzten Tag in Las Vegas spazierte ich abends durch einen Korridor, der The Sphere mit dem berühmten Venetian Hotel verbindet und durch seine verglasten Wände einen tollen Ausblick auf den Verkehr der darunterliegenden Straße bietet. Doch auch die Personen und Lichter im Inneren reflektierte das Glas. So konnte ich beide Elemente für meine Bildkomposition nutzten und spielte dabei mit der Blende und dem Fokus, um die einzelnen Elemente stärker oder schwächer zu betonen.

At 167 meters, the High Roller is currently the second highest Ferris wheel in the world. Luckily I had my 70-180mm lens with me. Despite the enormous height, I was able to zoom in really close and even get a relatively large image of the moon in the background. The illuminated Ferris wheel provided a nice contrast to the deep black night sky.

Der High Roller ist mit seinen 167 Metern aktuell das zweithöchste Riesenrad der Welt. Zum Glück hatte ich mein 70-180mm Objektiv dabei. So konnte ich trotz der enormen Höhe wirklich nah heranzoomen und selbst den Mond im Hintergrund noch relativ groß abbilden. Das beleuchtete Riesenrad bot einen schönen Kontrast zum tiefschwarzen Nachthimmel.
