📷 Lensball Shot and Phone Reflection Shot in a Train Station Corridor [EN/DE]

At Berlin Friedrichstraße station there is a corridor that offers ideal conditions for a hand-held glass ball photo due to its symmetry. The challenge there was to wait for a moment when there were no people in the busy corridor. However, after a few attempts I succeeded and was quite happy with the result. In post-processing, I added a radial blur filter in the background to bring the crystal ball even more into focus.

Am Bahnhof Berlin Friedrichstraße gibt es einen Gang der aufgrund seiner Symmetrie ideale Voraussetzungen für ein handgehaltenes Glaskugel-Foto bietet. Die Herausforderung lag hier darin, einen Moment abzuwarten, in dem sich keine Leute in dem hoch frequentierten Gang aufhielten. Nach einigen Versuchen gelang es mir aber und ich war mit dem Ergebnis recht zufrieden. In der Nachbearbeitung fügte ich noch einen radialen Weichzeichnungsfilter im Hintergrund hinzu, um die Glaskugel stärker in den Fokus zu rücken.

For the second shot, I used my smartphone as a mirror in the exact same corridor. This works surprisingly well if you use an open aperture so that the edges of the cell phone are not visible. I simply held my smartphone to the bottom of my lens with the display facing up.

Für die zweite Aufnahme verwendete ich mein Smartphone als Spiegel in dem exakt gleichen Gang. Dies funktioniert erstaunlich gut, wenn man eine offene Blende verwendet, damit die Ränder des Handys nicht sichtbar sind. Ich hielt mein Smartphone einfach mit dem Display nach oben an die Unterseite meines Objektivs.
